Whether or not you are taking the Smoky Mountain railway or just looking for a nice small town to visit, Bryson City is a great place to get away to. There are quite a few nice shops, restaurants and breweries to visit while you are there. If you are into Christmas, this is definitely the place to go staring in November when the entire town seems to get into the spirit of the holiday.

We visited during one of the busiest weeks of the year (according to locals)-the end of October. The leaves were changing, the weather was cool, It was very nice. The locals are friendly. There's a nice train ride there (book well in advance) and they moves thousands of people a day! There's a few really good breweries and some nice restaurants. The Great Smokey Mountain Park is a popular place to visit.

We were here at the end of October so the colors were the big thing to see. While visiting the train rides are a must do. But book early to get the best times and seats. If you are into rafting and ziplines there are plenty of those options to choose from.

The downtown area had places to eat and shop.

The downtown area had places to eat and shop. People are nice, helpful and receptive. There is a variety of food and bars. We did the Smokey Mountain Railroad trip to the gouge. The left side of the train as its traveling gives the best view. Food on the train was as good as any restaurant.

Enjoyed the outdoors with our grandsons.

Enjoyed the outdoors with our grandsons. The weather wasn't ideal, but we spent a day taking the train ride on the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad from Bryson City to the Nantahala Gorge, which was made even more memorable by the onboard entertainment! At our grandson's request, the "one man band" musician performed, Take Me Home Country Roads." Such fun!!

McKinley Edwards Inn is a wonderful place to stay. Our room was spacious, extremely comfortable and beautifully appointed. The breakfast buffet has a good range of choice and the hot option varies each day. The owner is very pleasant and welcoming and we had a great stay. Bryson City is a convenient location for exploring the Smokies, and the Blue Ridge Parkway, as well as the activities offered in Nantahala, Fontana, and Deep Creek. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

Location was amazing, view from dining area over the river was great, place was clean, had WiFi and Roku, kitchen appliances good, washer and dryer were handy, bed comfortable, bathroom clean, good hot shower, gas grill was nice. Fun to watch the fly fishermen wading and floating on the river, nice to see the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad train on the other side of the river. Easy drive into Bryson City or Cherokee.

The hotel feels cozy and homely. Don't know why exactly, but I enjoyed my stay here more than other hotels. Walking distance to a few pretty good restaurants, comfortable bed. Simple breakfast but on par with what you expect in the USA. And of course, this is a pretty good place for a nice scenic drive through the smokey mountains and tail of the dragon.

The Sweet Pea tiny home was the perfect stay for our getaway to Bryson City. When we arrived, the cabin was clean and had all the necessary amenities. It was even decorated for the holiday season! The host, Gina, was very responsive and we enjoyed the home close proximity to downtown Bryson City.

2 blocks from all restaurants, nightlife, and the train depot. Room was clean. Owner was attentive and kind. I was looking for a retro-feel hotel reminiscent of childhood stays in Cherokee, and this place was great. The pool was clean and nice. It was exactly what I was looking for.
