What a wonderful stay! We had the best time at Plastic Bottles House, David took such good care of us! Loved the meaningful use of plastic bottles as a building material, the initiatives to support the local community, and the beautiful fruit trees all throughout the property. David is an avid birder (ranked #1 and #2 on ebird in Central Uganda!) and is the founder of the Entebbe Birding Club. Birders or aspiring birders are in for a treat, he really knows all about birds! Be sure to check out his bird photography and the shoebill tour (which we did and were lucky to see 2 shoebills and lots of other beautiful birds)! What a nice way to close out our Uganda trip!

In realistically and literally I soaked in the nature during the whole stay. The boat to Mabamba swamp started from the private shore in the garden. The guides and tours arranged by the hotel were very good in the both of swamp and , hill climbing and village walk. There were no restaurants near there so decided to eat dinner all days, the menu and presentation as well as the taste were very nice. People are all comfortable and helpful, but a pair of hornbills are often coming to fight with them in the windows, even in the early morning, but this is also a part of the nature.

The location is stunning! You need to get a boat to it but the hotel arranges this and it is very quick. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly - they really couldn’t do enough to make my stay better. I would also recommend the sunset boat cruise! I would stay a few days here in future, rather than a single night.

"I stayed two nights at the Okra Hotel in Busambaga/Entebbe on the way back to Brussels and we would have loved to stay longer. The staff is very welcoming. The meals are excellent. The rooms are spacious and clean. A shuttle links the hotel with the airport of Entebbe. Last but not least: you can relax on the roof top with a beautiful view on the city and the Victoria Lake. I hope to come back in the near future to discover the beautiful country of Uganda and will definitely stay at the Okra Hotel in Busambaga/Entebbe again."
