I absolutely loved my stay at Marijani. The resort is extremely beautiful, the beach is stunning and the food at the restaurant is very high quality. But the best part is the staff, I am really really happy I met such great people, who were not only highly professional, but also kind, friendly, and always ready to help. I would recommend Marijani to anyone who wants to have an unforgettable experience in Zanzibar. I am looking forward to coming back!

The location is great, very quiet beach and no beach boys :) Our room was amazing, very big, on the second floor with a nice sea view . Breakfast is delicious , with chapati ( a home made flat bread from Zanzibar) , nice pancakes , fruit, fresh coffee, eggs …staff really nice , I forgot something in the room during check out and my away back to collect the luggage the cleaner reminde me and gave me back :) They have beach towels , swimming pool, free parking…

It is a very quiet, nice hotel, where you can relax to your heart's content. You can spend time on a sunbeds at the beach, at the pool or at the beach bar. We really liked to stay in this little property which is just in front of the beach! We stayed here while we were doing our activities (scuba, dolphins swimming,etc) and it was perfect to come back and relax. The breakfast was great and we had everything we needed :)

An absolutely exceptional place. I’ve travelled a lot, but I was truly impressed by everything. I recommend choosing a bungalow right on the beach. I would especially like to thank the hotel staff for their excellent personal approach — they accommodated all my non-standard requests. I want to come back, preferably IMMEDIATELY! Generally, a lovely and intimate establishment with staff that care for your personal needs. The manager is so friendly and always wants to know how the guests are doing. The most beautiful sunrises. The performances add to the spice. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

The nearby beaches are scenic, but there are some important things to consider. The ocean is full of sea urchins, making swimming risky without proper footwear. During the day, low tide pulls the water far from the shore, so swimming may not always be possible. If you walk toward the reef, expect to be approached frequently by local beach vendors, which can feel intrusive — especially when you're clearly not carrying money. Local security presence is minimal, so don't expect much intervention in these situations. It's best to come prepared and manage your expectations if you're looking for a peaceful swim.

This part of Zanzibar offers a quieter, more serene setting compared to some of the more tourist-heavy areas. One of the things we appreciated most was that we weren’t constantly approached by local vendors, allowing us to fully relax and soak in the peaceful atmosphere.

Authentic village. We didn't want to be in a resort. The villagers were so friendly and wanted nothing in return apart from a hello back. There is a little shop just outside the gate for water etc. We got fruit for smoothies from the fruit stall in the village, they also sold sprite etc, there was a mobile shop and two lovely seafood restaurants. Our favourite was Mzuri run by a really friendly guy Hassan, wonderful succulent seafood. We loved it. It was just what we were looking for - authentic and local. The road is not graded, but I walk with a stick and it was fine for me. A few stretches were unlit but we take head torches.

The food was OK, the room was massively spacious and i loved it ,staff were friendly despite communication breakdown in most instances due to language barriers. Mr Betrand was so sweet a staff he made our stay so memorable always caring and bringing out the best out of us. Remo the property manager was awesome 👌

The rooms are large and very clean, the food is very tasty and the staff is very nice and welcoming.
