Best sea viewing spot in front of my door under a mango tree, a piece of paradise, rugged yet beautiful. Spacious room with big bathroom. Has everything you need. A bit like staying in my grandma’s when I was young: you can hear ppl walking upstairs while lying in bed, and plenty of birds like motmots early morning in the courtyard. Room has sliding glass doors, with curtains for sun blocking and privacy. Private cove reachable via a proper hike, staircase to start with but majority is along riverbeds and through bushes, rocks and tree trunks…be prepared, I had to wash my shoes after that 😂 also remember your way down, no signposts or anything like that, and getting lost in the bush when there is no mobile signal can be scary… Castara beach via paved road downhill and staircase, some may find it steep. Sunsets are amazing, boats, music, guys playing football in the twilight…very atmospheric. Good food options close by in the village. The ones recommended by hotel 👍🏻 About 1.5h drive from airport. Worth the trip if you ask me.

I opted to make my own meals in the outdoor shared kitchen on the deck… The drive to the Villa through the rainforest was quite relaxing and scenic. Once you arrive, and head towards the rooms you are met with the most amazing sea view… Paradise!

The host was very welcoming. The room was spacious and well-equipped. It is located 2 mins away from the sea. We rented a car to them and they were very accomodating with transfers.

I stayed La Casa the Castara for 11 nights and loved the place. There is a number of apparents to choose from, each one unique and full of character. I stayed in 2 bedroom apartment which was ideal in every way. Each bedroom had en suite bathroom and there was open plan lounge with well equipped kitchen. Outside there is a big balcony with outside place to eat or just sit and relax. I loved the beautiful views from the balcony on the village and sea as much as watching hummingbirds flying around and feeding themselves from hanging down feeders. The location of the property is very convenient as it is located in the centre of the village with short walk to the beach, ships and local restaurants. It made feel like I was a part of this beautiful, tranquil carabbean village. The Casa the Castara is a family run property and the owners Narine and Scott are wonderful hosts who made us very welcome. I would be definitely coming back

Location is the best in my life. Breakfast was served with a special attention to me from the chef personally. Breakfast was tasty.

Shalom apartments provided us with a home from home. The accomodation was clean and spacious. The pool and garden were very private, humming birds visit the garden. Access to the highway is a short drive away and the main town within walking distance. Ronique our host was outstanding and helped us hire a car. She made our two week holiday a very special time. Shalom apartments are ideal for both couples and families. Tobago is a bird watchers paradise and I would thoroughly recommend Shalom Apartments as a base to explore the island. Above all, the apartment is in a very quiet residential area unlike much of the holiday accomodation on offer on the island. Thank you Ronique, you are a fabulous host.
