New hotel with luxurious rooms and comfortable bed. Very attentive and super friendly staff. (You may feel like tipping a bit extra, but they are worth it) Location right at the bus stop, but a bit longer walk to the river bank.

A massive room with breathtaking views right along the Mekong from our room balcony. Stunning. Food was good and prices for drinks modest - unlike so many hotels who mark-up prices by several hundred percent, We left our car in the car park which was safe, and our thanks to the hotel staff for allowing us to leave the car there for one night whilst we were in Laos to obtain a new visa for Thailand. It is quite a long way from the Friendship Bridge but it is the best hotel in town for sure. Did not use the pool or other facilities, but would stay there again for sure. Delightful staff, and magnificent / stunning views!

Great location, the room was very nice and clean, the beds were comfertable. The breakfast is on the top floor with a great veiw of the river. There is a large market next to the hotel and a few small restaurants nearby so easy to get food and drink. I would stay here again.

The place was refreshing. We booked 6 cabins and each cabin looks great. They are comfortable for 2 persons. There is aircon as well as wall fan. The mini ref has 2 bottled water as complimentary. There is also a kettle for boiling water although there is no coffee provided. Just in case, you can bring your own. The swimming pool is clean although we were not able to use during our stay. The owners keep the place tidy and well kept. The free breakfast was also good and was served personally by the owners.

    sleepy city by the Mekong, Savanakhet is opposite a short trip over the bridge. I loved the lack of the traffic hum of a big city, particularly on the Laotian side. In another universe there would be even easier to cross back and forth as if it was the same city. Loved this duality.

    The market was very interesting, prices ridiculously cheap...

    The market was very interesting, prices ridiculously cheap and a huge variety of goods on offer .the river night market with restaurants is worth the trip alone . Temple and buddha on the mountain is definitely worth seeing. It was a pity the smoke haze covered the city from the the temple , it would be fantastic view looking down over the river and city.

    Mukdahan is a border town with Laos.

    Mukdahan is a border town with Laos. There really isn't much to see there, and better experiences in Thailand can be found elsewhere. There is the Indochina market, which is a large wholesale market close to the river - however JJ Market in Bangkok is much better with cheaper prices. There's a few large temples, however other temples can be found elsewhere in Thailand. There is some excellent Vietnamese bread and sandwiches at the walking street night market, but those can be found in Ubon and Udon. Getting around is done by walking or renting a motorcycle. You can take a tuk-tuk, but those are expensive. Mukdahan: Hot and dusty, but a good resting point before jumping the border to Laos.

    The staff are amazing, you are very well looked after and nothing is a problem to them. The facilities are clean and well looked after. The location is ideal for Mukdahan centre within a short walking distance, and also within easy reach of an excellent market for provisions of any kind. I will return to Mukda Sawan. Mike.

    Second year we have stayed at the De Ladda. Fabulous hotel and staff. Food good. All rooms have a balcony overlooking the Mekong river. Rooms are extremely comfortable. Can't fault anything. We booked a week here then extended it for a couple of nights and now extended for another 10 nights!

    As ever a spotless hotel. Good location near some restaurants and not too far from the bus station. Staff friendly and helpful, called me a taxi to the bus station.
