FAQs about hotels in Bangkok

Something for Everyone in Bangkok

Bangkok never sleeps, or so you might think as you fly into Suvarnabhumi International Airport. From luxurious mega malls like MBK and Siam Discovery in Siam Square to the famous Khao San Road in the Banglamphu district, this hard working city is packed with commerce, fiery food and soothing temples.

Catch a boat up river on the Chao Phraya Express or discover different neighbourhoods on the blissfully air-conditioned BTS Skytrain. A taxi or exhilarating tuk-tuk ride is never far away from the big attractions, which include Chinatown, Jim Thompson House and the floating markets at Damnoen Saduak.

To step out of the frenetic energy of street food stalls, amulet markets and the sizzling temperatures, discover an oasis of calm in one of the many Buddhist temples. Be awed by the majesty of the Grand Palace and marvel at the world’s longest reclining Buddha at Wat Pho. While you’re there why not relax even more with a traditional Thai massage?

From the sky-scraping luxury hotels with world famous rooftop bars to a cheap hostel bed in the centre of town, Booking.com will help you explore all Bangkok has to offer.

Bangkok was an extremely disappointing and unpleasant destination for me. The city has an overwhelming, foul sewage-like smell almost everywhere — streets, alleys, and even inside many shopping malls and food courts. Air pollution is severe, traffic is nightmarish (expect 45–90 minutes for even short distances), and the combination of heat, crowds, and constant cooking/sewage odors made it impossible to enjoy being outdoors or even in many indoor spaces. Despite the famous sights, the overall sensory experience was so negative that I would strongly advise against visiting Bangkok unless you are very tolerant of bad smells, pollution, and gridlock.

I did the bike and longboat tour which was excellent. I did the dinner cruise and was disappointed with the food. One rude passenger ruined my evening. Sights were spectacular. I think booking a more expensive River cruise might mean better food.

Getting around by train, the roads were very congested and travelling by bus or taxi was at times very slow Lots of Vegan restaurants both near Rambuttri and downtown Also by Rambuttri a great haberdashery shop, lots of weed places at much better prices than downtown Favourite place was dirty weed Plus dentist Bangkok dentist centre (name may not be quite right) the one that is walking distance from Rambuttri, not the one downtown

Bangkok is a nice city.

Bangkok is a nice city. It combines modernity and ancient heritage in vibrant urban life. You can experience a waterfront city with a unique landscape of modern and ancient buildings. The food is good and cheap. The people are friendly.

A beautiful city with a wide variety of unique foods and an amazing culture. The downside is that the road to the city center is very congested and transportation from the airport is still lacking. I really enjoy visiting the Thornbury Market Place because there we can get a variety of seafood, fresh and cheap. I also enjoyed visiting Pak Khlong Talat, I did not expect it to be such a large flower market.

My first time in Thailand and overwhelmed at first - sights, sounds, traffic and the heat. Bangkok is a mixture of the old and new with fascinating temples, palaces and neighbourhoods. Wat Arun simply stunning. Came away with a great impression of the Thai people - polite, helpful and patient with visitors. Treat their country and traditions with respect and you will have a wonderful time.. The food is exceptional and is available everywhere with marked differences in price between street vendors, food halls and restaurants (the later usually have aircon). Ride the river ferries, use Bolt cabs and haggle over a ride in a tuk-tuk for a great experience. The Mahanakhon Skyscraper at sunset is not cheap but an incredible experience. Really recommend Jack's Bar, by the river, in the Saphan neighbourhood.

A cute hotel that is very near the shopping malls in Bangkok / khrung thep. The location is made easy for you to get around in Bangkok. The breakfast was amazing! And has a nice rooftop with a pool at the 8 floor. The room was a bit small but it was hardly any problem because it was a last stay before going back to the airport. Also the staff was super nice and helped us order a cheap taxi to the airport if needed. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that is using it as a pitstop before and after travelling around Thailand!

The price of the hotel was very good. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel was near the skytrain so was easy to get around. There were places to eat nearby and a food market. We also enjoyed the Jazz Bar about 5-10 minutes from the hotel. Also, about 40 minutes from the airport for transfers. We left our luggage at the hotel for 2 weeks whilst we went travelling and collected on our return to the hotel, this was a great convenience for us. We would stay here again if visiting Bangkok.

Located just within a very short distance from Nana BTS station. My heartiest thanks to hotel staffs particularly Ms. Tea (Front Office Manager), Wiwa & Peach (Front Desk), Wee & Jom (Bell Team) for being extremely cordial & always ready to help & guide me for any assistance which I required. The room was comfortable, neat & clean. The Japanese food in the rooftop restaurant was good. This hotel is an ideal place to stay in Bangkok's Sukhumvit 11 tourist area.

We stayed here for 1 night before we went off to another part of Thailand. Our stay was amazing! For the price it exceeded our expectations. The rooms were clean, modern and a very comfortable bed. Despite being in the heart of Bangkok, our room was quiet. I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend anyone who wants a hotel in walking distance of everything to stay here. Thank you very much!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean, good sized and very reasonably priced room. Close to a busy area of Bangkok but this street is an oasis of calm . Good Thai and Indian restaurants in easy walking distance. More welcoming and personal than bigger more expensive chain hotels.
