If you are looking for peace and quiet this is a place for you! The beach is sandy, wide and very long with a constant gentle cool breeze, a lot of shadow under the trees and pictoresque views. Bungalows are wooden with concrete bathroom, very well protected with mosquito net. They are new, very clean, spacious and full of light. Each has a ceiling fan, safe box, hot shower, good Wi-Fi and a terrace facing a pond. The beds are very comfortable. The owners, Jay and New, are very nice and helpful 🙂 Breakfast and restaurant's menu are rather basic but the food is good and tasty. It is a perfect place to chill out, daydream and listen to waves and birds 🙂🌴

a wonderfully quiet complex in a fascinating landscape. Kate is an amazing host and manager. there is always coffee and fresh water. sometimes we got even some fruits or sweets to try. Everybody is always kind and caretaking. The cottages are equipped with mosquito nets and fans. comfortable mattress. large storage area and hanger. Everything is very clean upon arrival and is cleaned on demand. There are comfortable chairs on the shady veranda. The toilet is an incredible experience, you can see the starry sky and the birds in the trees to the side. There is no on-site restaurant, but you can eat great at the Bar or Eco Horizon on the beach in front, both a very short walk away. I love Rakkan Resort because of the traditional style, the calm and friendliness of the owners and staff. One sleeps fantastically and restfully. There are many exciting animals to watch and incredible landscape to explore. Highly recommended for nature lovers and those seeking peace and quiet.

Everything and especially MR Choi

We spent 2 nights here either side of our trip to Surin Islands. It's a great place to stay - our room was super clean with a good bed, aircon, fridge and a good shower. There is drinking water and kettle downstairs as well as toast and eggs for breakfast. There is also a small swimming pool although we just didn't have time to try it out. Tom and Am are so kind and friendly and will organise your trip to the Surin Islands including hire of tents that are cheaper than the government ones - we got one opening directly to the beach which was fabulous. And they will drive you to the boat at no extra charge. We would totally recommend them for a nice stay in Kura Bhuri and to book the Surin Islands through. We would probably stay there for a few days extra next time as Kura Bhuri is a nice town with a good market and a really nice feel to the place. The bus stop is just around the corner.

The breakfast was great with fresh fruit and lovely omelet. The staff was particularly great, always friendly and welcoming and sweet. The location is absolutely fantastic.

I stayed on May 10, 2025, at a resort with a stunning view by the sea, which also offered STARBOARD activities. The food was fresh, delicious, and truly worth it. The service was warm and attentive — the staff were very friendly. One staff member in particular, Khun Boy, guided me around the property, recommended dishes, and took care of me throughout my stay. I didn’t expect a resort located far from the city to offer service comparable to a 5-star hotel. Their attention to guests was exceptional, far exceeding expectations — especially considering the room rates, which were very reasonable.

Very good hotel for our second stay, good bedding, the staff is friendly and helpful, a gigantic swimming pool, beautiful garden .We had bungalow D1 facing the sea. Hearty breakfast and very good and affordable meal.

Beautiful property. We stayed in the bamboo cottage which doesn’t have AC although we could have paid more and upgraded to an AC room. Our room was comfortable, well designed & well thought through. There was a big mosquito net over the bed and also netting on all the windows so we didn’t find bugs to be an issue at all. Good bathroom with hot water shower with decent pressure. Staff are friendly & helpful. Location is sublime, right on a beautiful clean beach. Overall facilities are very good (including the restaurant). Excellent value for money, would recommend to anyone.

Great location, far away from touristic destinations, perfect getaway from the cities and crowded places. The owner was really kind and nice, great food

This is a unique and very special place. Yes, it is not the easiest place to get to, but the best places never are, and BABA can organise everything. We had stayed in Phuket the night before. BABA sent a driver to pick us up and take us to the pier. Once we got to the pier, the Long Tail they organised was waiting for the 75 minutes ride between the islands and mangroves. As we approached the resort, BABA staff could be seen driving across the beach, waving, to meet up. BABA is spread out across a long stretch of perfect (and empty) beach. Accommodation is along the stretch, with individual buildings on stilts. Each building is different, but all have balconies, with loads of room and situated in the lush jungle. You can hardly see your neighbours through the trees. A sand path runs through the jungle with paths to each accommodation leading off. At one end of the path is their beach bar and Yoga, at the other end is their reception, restaurant and massage. It is a 10-15 minute walk between them (this place really is spaced out). All food is fresh, the menus change every day, and tastes fantastic. So should you come…. It is paradise, unspoiled like Thailand used to be. Miles of empty perfect beach, wonderful water, unbelievable food. Each lodge is large and comfortable It is also in the jungle, and monkeys will wake you up (which is fab), but if you want a City Hilton, this is not your place. If you would like wonderful paradise and don’t mind sleeping under the provided mosquito nets, this is your perfect(actually not many mosquitoes or bugs but it is jungle). We left a little of our heart there when we left, so unique, we miss it.
