Room and bathroom was very clean. The environment was very quiet during the visit. Very nice neighbourhood for a walk and for enjoy in a fresh air. Breakfast was really good, domestic food was served, and personnel were very friendly.

The location is very good, near the highway but there isn't much noise. Breakfast was great, a lot of options and Jasmina offered to even make us something more that wasn't on the menu, but there was no need. Easy check in, very welcoming hosts, nice and clean.

Excellent hotel, large comfortable room, with a kettle and small fridge. The front desk staff are so helpful and friendly. Hotel Kras is a 15 minute walk from the train station and 10 minutes to Postonja caves. We had breakfast included and there was lots of selection.

Very good hotel, ideal for visiting Postojna or on the way to the Adriatic Sea. Very warm and courteous welcome, super rich and yet inexpensive breakfast. Despite its proximity to the main road, the room was very quiet. Air conditioning is available, but we didn't need it. We can fully recommend this hotel.

The caves were incredible - a great experience.

The caves were incredible - a great experience. We bought the ticket which also gave access to the vivarium. Make sure you dress warmly for both as the caves are very cold. There is a shuttle - an additional 2 Euros return- that takes you from the hotel car park to Predjama Castle. This was also so interesting and well worth a visit.

We were on a cycling tour and stayed at Pira Hotel for 2...

We were on a cycling tour and stayed at Pira Hotel for 2 nights to explore Postojna Caves, Rakov Skocjan National Park and Predjama castle. Skocjan Caves is only 20km away too and we visited that the day before. It’s interesting to see that Skocjan Caves and Postojna Caves are ranked #4 and #6 in the world’s best caves and indeed they are amazing and should not be missed so a 2 or more night stay makes sense.

The city itself is not very special.

The city itself is not very special. If you come to Postojna, you come for a number of sights that lie on the outskirts of Postojna or just outside it. Recommendations include: the Postojna Caves, the Vivarium, the Secret Rooms of Hotel Jama, Predjama Castle, Škocjan Caves and the medieval ‘Holy Trinity Church’ in Hrastovlje.

We were only here for the weekend and enjoyed our time to the fullest. The weather was really cold, but that didn't bother us. We visited the Postojna Cave and then the Vivarium. The next day we visited the Expo Jama Kras and Predjama Castle. As a recommendation, I would suggest visiting Expo Jama Kras first and then Postojna Cave. The impression of the cave with a bit more knowledge and background would be better! Predjama Castle is something very special and unique that you absolutely have to see! We visited it in really cold winter weather and I think it gave us that real, cold, stone castle look and we could imagine what it was like back then. On the other hand, I think it's beautiful in summer too, and we already have it on our bucket list for a second visit in spring/summer. Just to see the other side and get this impression too! The cave below can only be visited in the summer months, which is one of the reasons why as well.

The town itself isn't terribly interesting, but the area...

The town itself isn't terribly interesting, but the area offers some of the most epic attractions I've ever visited - namely the Postojna Caves, Predjama Castle and the Skocjan Caves. It's like stepping into a fairytale. They blew my mind. The local museum is also worth visiting and gives you a bit of context to these locations.

The location is great. We were one day on the seaside, one day in Škocjanske caves and Military park and one day in Postojna cave and Predjamski grad. Everything was very close and reachable by short car drive. The room was modern and very comfortable.. The bed was awesome. They even have a separate room for guests to use as a dining room, equipped with fridge, toaster, water heater and a coffee machine. Tea and coffee are free for the guests. Good value for money, I highly recommend this place.

Everything was perfect! Great location, right next to the Postojna cave (it is actually a part of the Postojna cave park), has parking, beautiful hotel, very spatious rooms, super comfy beds, clean, hot water in the bathroom, the tap water is natural,drinkable, delicious breakfast, the staff is sooo welcoming and helpful, puts extra effort, kind.....in one word-perfect. Full stop. Perfect.

We stayed at Eco Hotel Center and were pleasantly surprised by the experience. The room was very nice, and the rates were excellent value for money. The breakfast was affordable and offered a good variety. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Postojna, as well as those traveling to Croatia, Italy, or further along the Slovenian coast. It’s a great stopover location.
