They have had no issues with me arriving very-very late (3AM). The room was quite, cosy, and private - as promised. The road leading to the hotel through the forest is interesting - it was an adventure during the night, and I could even see some nice furry creatures scurrying along.

Quiet, peaceful area. The apartment is separated, comfortable, well equipped, it was ideal for the two of us. The air conditioning is especially useful since the apartment is in the attic. You get what you see in the pictures, no foul play. Parking is in front of the house. All our destinations were reachable within 1 - 1.5 hours (Izola+Piran, Vintgar Gorge+Bled, Prdejama castle, Vršič pass) Would have been useful for us: a small microwave, mosquito net.

We expected a normal mountain hut, but were very pleasantly surprised. Cozy rooms, with a great view, very nice staff, breakfast was very filling and a was great value for money. Bathrooms are newly renovated and very clean. Staff was friendly and chatty.

Cerknica is nothing impressive, it has some charms of many other small Slovenian towns, but nothing to be especially remembered for. But as a start point for interesting and beautiful sightseeing and adventures it can be considered one of the best in (and not limited to) Slovenia.

The walks around the ephemeral lake of Cerknica are pleasant, but best done by bike. Otherwise, it's a bit long on foot with little change in scenery. We preferred the Rakov Skocjan walk, a stroll along a river with natural caves.

The town itself is nothing special, but the lake is a fascinating natural phenomenon, especially when the water rises from underground. Beautiful forests surround it, with a good network of roads and trails. Highly recommended.

Cerknica, in addition to its mountainous surroundings, is a good base for excursions, such as to the nearby Postojna Cave, which is worth exploring. There are also several smaller caves in the area, as well as the Pivka Military Museum.

We walked down to Cerknica for lunch and then back, the next day by car to the lake and on foot along the marked path. A few trees supported by the storm - climbing over obstacles. Only one (and a half) tavern in town, which closes at 3pm at the beginning of the week (Mon, Tue).

I like walks along Lake Cerknica the most, where there is beautiful nature and a very nice energy. Quite close to Cerknica is Snežnik Castle, which is also very beautiful, its surroundings offer many opportunities for pleasant walks.

This place is a gem in the middle of the Slovenian hills. The room is small with the essentials and comfy beds. Here you can be completely in touch with nature and the authenticity of a farm. Urban went far beyond to make us happy with the food and all our intolerances and allergies. They made gluten free bread and put together a vegetarian 5* dinner! With veggies and mushrooms picked up directly from the garden! This place is amazing! We have been spoiled and happily would come back.

A lovely place to stay before a tour at Krizna Jama. The owner Igor was super helpful - he picked me up from the bus stop, called the cave to ask them to pick me up at the guesthouse and then drove up to the bus stop after I’d left to return something I’d left at the hotel. The room with a balcony has a gorgeous view! Everything was very comfy and clean.

I love this place! It's spacious, clean, nicely located and have 2 balconies -standard one and the loggia where you can sit when it's cold outside. Very friendly and helpful host! Kitchen has everything you need. Very comfortable bed. Close to Lake Cerknica where you can go for a walk. I hope to get back there in some years.

Staff very hard working and lovely, especially the women. Simple but good food in evening, great breakfast, best view in the area from the main deck as well as our room. The hotel is situated on a beautiful mountain. On the substantial drive up there we saw foxes and hares. It’s in de midst of nature and nice and quiet.
