FAQs about hotels in Singapore

Asia in a Compact Package

Clean, compact and compelling, Singapore seamlessly combines the best of Asia. Different cultures and cuisines live side by side, whilst maintaining their own identity.

Behind the bright lights of Chinatown is great value dim sum, while Little India is a sensation for the senses. Wander past the pastel-painted facades of Malay-dominated Geylang Seari for a taste of days gone by, then stop off at the Colonial-style Raffles Hotel, birthplace of the Singapore Sling cocktail.

For a retreat from the hustle and bustle, take the cable car to the sandy beaches of Sentosa, an island just south of the city centre. Also here is Universal Studios Singapore, a theme park brimming with the magic of the movies.

As you’d expect from the host of the world’s only Formula 1 night race, once night falls, Singapore is still very much alive. Its Night Safari is a zoo offering the rare chance to see nocturnal animals going about their business.

Although small enough to see on foot, Singapore has an efficient public transport system which extends as far as Singapore Changi Airport. With a choice of Singapore accommodation ranging from budget hostels to luxury hotels, Booking.com is bound to have the right choice for your holiday.

I’d never heard of the Bugis area which we visited.

I’d never heard of the Bugis area which we visited. It was pretty, eclectic and colourful. We bought a two day ticket for the Big Red Bus which took us to all the sites we needed to see. The modern buildings in Singapore are fab too. Our sightseeing was cut short due to an accident which left one of our party in hospital overnight. The help she received at Raffles Hospital was excellent. The Jewel at the airport was amazing. On reflection another day would have been better, so three full days.

It was good to compare the different parts of Singapore,

It was good to compare the different parts of Singapore, Little India, Arab Centre and china town as well as the marina. Chijmes and the boat hotel were great. Worth going to the the garden bay and have a drink at the upper floor of the boat. Botanic garden was amazing with orchids. Taking the monorail to Sentosa island was wonderful. A foot massage at china town was marvelous. Worth waiting to have a drink in Long bar of the Raffles Hotel.

Clean and beautiful city. Honest taxi/limo drivers.

Clean and beautiful city. Honest taxi/limo drivers. Police visibility or uniformed personnel would be much appreciated especially when you need to ask for direction since some people are not tech savvy. Signage for taxis need to be a little bigger to be quite visible from a distance especially for senior travellers. Easy to get around the city by train or limo taxi if you want.

We only stayed 3 days and that was enough to explore all the downtown attractions. 3 more and we could have had a more immersive experience of the culture. Worth the trip but make sure you plan a timetable accordingly to see what most interests you. Some attractions are quite far away from the downtown area like the botanical gardens and the zoo attractions. We didn't make them due to distance and time constraints.

What a lovely clean and safe city.

What a lovely clean and safe city. The train system is amazing for getting around, including to and from the airport if you only have a single roller bag each. We had two teenagers with us and they coped well. The zoo was brilliant...so big and heaps of animals, jump on the tram to make your walking less at the zoo if needed. Marina Bay Sands and Garden by the bay were stunning both during the day and night. Its best to go mid afternoon and see the lights at night. Singapore shops do not open until 10am which is fine for late starts when you are tired from the day before haha. The Grab system for travelling via cars is also very easy to navigate, but be mindful at the cost from the airport if you have extra luggage. It didnt give me an option for more the 2 large bags so had to pay extra to the driver which was a bit annoying (around $70 in total)..we ended up using the train back to the airport for a small fee of around $2.30 each, so saved big time. We went on the cable car across to Santos island, that was worth it, but was under whelmed by Madame Tussauds just because we didnt know half of the famous people and the exhibits were quite musty smelling. The 4D movie at the end was fun though. We liked the war history of the island which involved quite a bit of walking. It started pouring with rain so the luge closed which meant we could go on that, so we cut out time short and just headed back on the cable car which was fun in the rain too. Make sure you pack an umbrella as there is rain most days, didnt stop us adventuring out. The Gardens by the bay domes were amazing!!! a must see! We also went to pay our respects to the fallen soldiers at Kanji War Memorial for remembrance day, but we went a day early as we had work commitments on 11/11th. It was a warm walk from the station. We will go back to Singapore as there is still so much to do and see.

Our stay coincided with SG60, and during check-in the front desk staff thoughtfully offered us macarons decorated with the Singapore flag, adding a festive touch to the experience. The room was much more spacious than expected, which is a rare bonus for hotels in Singapore. Overall, a comfortable and pleasant stay with attentive service — highly recommended.

The hotel is quite well located, and the staff is very friendly and efficient. The rooms are large and well appointed. Room service food is excellent. This is one of the best hotels in Singapore, no doubt. And it's one of my two favorites.
