FAQs about hotels in Makkah

The Holy City

This holy city is located in western Saudi Arabia and is also known as Makkah. Millions of Muslims make a pilgrimage here, as the pilgrimage is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. The Prophet Muhammad was born here, and it is a sacred place for Muslims and the birthplace of Islam.

Non-muslims are not permitted into Mecca and the government of Saudi Arabia issues special visas for people making the pilgrimage. Most people coming to the Mecca will enter via the Hajj Terminal at King Abdulaziz International Airport and Jeddah is the gateway to the city.

The Hajj has a fairly set itinerary including a visit to the Sacred Mosque, al-Masjid al-Haram, built around the Kaaba. Mecca contains many restaurants with varied cuisine and tea shops are available for light refreshments such as traditional tea and biscuits. There are also many juice stands for a little refreshment amid the heat. Ranging from luxury hotels to basic accommodation, Booking.com offers over 80 hotels for your time in Mecca.

Visiting Makkah is a truly unforgettable and spiritual experience. The atmosphere around the Holy Kaaba is deeply peaceful, and the feeling of performing Umrah or Hajj in this sacred place is beyond words. The city is well-organized to handle millions of pilgrims, with clear signage, helpful staff, and efficient transportation.

This is the home of Muslims and will forever hold a special place in everyone's hearts. The place keeps changes and every time I go I am surprised with how much thought they have put into making peoples stay here convenient and peaceful, despite the very high numbers of pilgrims. You forget this place is mountainous as most places are levelled up that if it wasn't for the escalators you would think it was all on ground level!

Everything. The location not crowded compare the hotel near haram. The staff- friendly and helpful. Even the bus driver also very helpful and help us with the baby stroller. It was so nice of him. The room - very spacious and comfortable. It's worth the money. The shuttle bus - always in front of the hotel. No need to wait long. Very efficient even from haram to hotel. Easy to get groceries. It's beside the hotel only

Best customer services. Staff is very friendly and welcoming especially Tufayel Ahmed made our stay very comfortable. He was always smiling and willing to help. This kind of service is very rare in Makkah especially hotels near Haram. Rooms are slightly small and bed quality can be better but overall great hotel to stay. 10-15 min walk from Haram at normal pace . Good Wi-Fi and professional check in service and staff

Our stay at Dhiafat Al Raja Hotel was truly pleasant. The best part I liked the most is its excellent location — the hotel is very close to Haram, which made every visit easy and comfortable. This convenience added great value to my trip, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to stay near Haram.
