The Hotel is very clean, with friendly staff, warm tee and drink on Arrival. Rooms are luxury for the price that we paid. King size Bed was very clean soft with heavy soft pillows for a good sleep. The staff were very very helpful and well mannered. A bit far from Haram but the best and cheap option! Location is really quiet. If you have a car you can reach Haram in about 15 min. Shuttle service is available for every Prayer 5 times a day, but we did not use it. Thank you Wirgan!

I had the best time at this hotel everything was just perfect! The location is great, and the shuttle bus to the Haram runs regularly, which made getting there so easy. I also loved the small shopping area inside the hotel, we did some shopping there and really enjoyed it. The staff were so friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. The breakfast was amazing, with a wide variety of delicious options. Overall, we had a perfect stay and I would definitely come back again!

The Holy City

This holy city is located in western Saudi Arabia and is also known as Makkah. Millions of Muslims make a pilgrimage here, as the pilgrimage is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. The Prophet Muhammad was born here, and it is a sacred place for Muslims and the birthplace of Islam.

Non-muslims are not permitted into Mecca and the government of Saudi Arabia issues special visas for people making the pilgrimage. Most people coming to the Mecca will enter via the Hajj Terminal at King Abdulaziz International Airport and Jeddah is the gateway to the city.

The Hajj has a fairly set itinerary including a visit to the Sacred Mosque, al-Masjid al-Haram, built around the Kaaba. Mecca contains many restaurants with varied cuisine and tea shops are available for light refreshments such as traditional tea and biscuits. There are also many juice stands for a little refreshment amid the heat. Ranging from luxury hotels to basic accommodation, Booking.com offers over 80 hotels for your time in Mecca.

You ( the Booking.com team) should know what Makkah is and why it matters for Muslims and why do they vist this place. If you don't know this, it raises a huge question mark on your understanding of the Makkah, it's holiness and sanity, and more importantly the sentiments this place holds among Muslims. The trip to Makkah is about pilgrimage, hence you must add this option along with Business and Luisire trip. Same should apply for the city of Madinah.

I stayed at the Fairmont Hotel in Mecca and had a wonderful experience. The entire team – from the management to the staff – was extremely friendly, helpful, and professional. I truly enjoyed my time at the Royal Clock Tower and was impressed by the welcoming atmosphere and excellent service. It was an unforgettable stay, and I look forward to returning soon.

It’s a holy Place for Muslims and one’s spiritual journey begins here. It’s shame that people from third world countries turned such a beautiful and miraculous place into a third world City. No respect for its holiness.

Completely modernized.

Completely modernized. To get to Haram now it means lots of walking. They have improved queue control and they are constantly expanding. Situated right opposite Clock Tower and other business centre's, I think personally its a distraction because whilst we have the Kaba, the malls are mega busy and focus gets changed. Hats off to the poor people who cannot afford flashy hotels and fast food chains, they are all lined up and stationed outside the vicinity of Haram where they spend time sleeping and praying. No wonder Allah promised them Jannah 500 years before the privileged ones and so may Allah forgive us all ameen. You must come for Umrah or Hajj whichever you can afford and try to save and perhaps get your family over and sponsor someone which is as equal as doing it yourself. The feeling of seeing Kaba and then tawaf is amazing and what a challenge to even touch the Kaba. May Allah grant your wishes and may you reading this review be amongst the lucky ones to come meet with your creator.

Makkah is a place where I truly felt peace and blessings—the longer I stayed, the calmer my heart became. People are kind and helpful, and the city feels safe and welcoming. The Kaaba and surrounding facilities are managed exceptionally well, with staff always ready to assist. The Haramain Train is world-class—modern, efficient, and cleaner than many international airports. Food options are excellent, with everything from traditional dishes to international cuisines. I preferred using Uber over local cabs, as there are many unregistered taxis and Umrah service providers—official services are safer and more cost-effective. Overall, Makkah is a beautifully evolving city with excellent infrastructure, smooth crowd management, and an atmosphere of peace you can’t find anywhere else.
