The hotel staff at the reception, Abdul Rahman al-Zahraanee and Raakaan, as well as Abdul 'Azeez were fantastic and extremely helpful. Al-Zahraanee gave us a free upgrade to a suite since we have booked two standard rooms and requested for them to be connected. Highly recommend this hotel, and may Allah bless these three gentlemen abundantly.

FAQs about hotels in Makkah

The Holy City

This holy city is located in western Saudi Arabia and is also known as Makkah. Millions of Muslims make a pilgrimage here, as the pilgrimage is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. The Prophet Muhammad was born here, and it is a sacred place for Muslims and the birthplace of Islam.

Non-muslims are not permitted into Mecca and the government of Saudi Arabia issues special visas for people making the pilgrimage. Most people coming to the Mecca will enter via the Hajj Terminal at King Abdulaziz International Airport and Jeddah is the gateway to the city.

The Hajj has a fairly set itinerary including a visit to the Sacred Mosque, al-Masjid al-Haram, built around the Kaaba. Mecca contains many restaurants with varied cuisine and tea shops are available for light refreshments such as traditional tea and biscuits. There are also many juice stands for a little refreshment amid the heat. Ranging from luxury hotels to basic accommodation, Booking.com offers over 80 hotels for your time in Mecca.

The flight was Saudia flight SV260 travelling from Istanbul...

The flight was Saudia flight SV260 travelling from Istanbul Airport (IST) to Jeddah (JED) on the 16th of December 2025 Booking reference BUK-34469268. On the day of travel, I was already ready and within the boarding zone prior to gate closure. Due to congestion inside the gate seating area, there was no available space to remain directly at the gate, and passengers were required to use nearby seating areas. At no point was my name or my family’s name announced over the public address system. This is important because loudspeakers are installed throughout the boarding zone, including within toilet facilities. A final boarding announcement would have been clearly hearable to us and would have allowed us to proceed immediately to the gate. Also, the flight information display screens did not show a “Final Call” which is the standard visual indicator that boarding is about to close. My daughter was suffering from a urinary infection on the day of travel, requiring urgent and repeated toilet use. We were therefore in the toilet facilities directly opposite the boarding gate, close of the departure area. I can provide evidence of prescribed medication if required. Upon realising the gate was closed, we were directed between multiple desks and locations by airline and airport staff, who were and unhelpful. This caused distress for me and my family, resulting in financial loss including missed onward arrangements and rebooking costs. When we approached Saudia gate staff for assistance, we were informed that they could not help us further and were told to buy an alternative flight with Turkish Airlines. No rebooking assistance, options, or guidance were given by Saudia staff. I respectfully ask that you try recovery or compensation to the fullest extent possible on my behalf. I can provide more information if you require Thanks Nayyar Iqbal Raja

Dear Sir/Madam,

Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to make a complaint about the difficult and unsafe conditions when walking along the roadside near the Haram. It is very hard and dangerous to walk in this area because there is no safe path for pedestrians. Recently, I was hit by a car while walking there. Alhamdulillah, the accident was not serious, and Allah saved me from major injury. However, this situation could be very dangerous for others, especially elderly people, children, and visitors. I kindly request that the authorities look into this matter and take action to improve pedestrian safety, such as providing proper walkways, barriers, or better traffic control near the Haram. Thank you for your time and attention. I hope this issue can be resolved soon for the safety of everyone. Yours sincerely, abdulkadir

The holy and divine vicinity around the Haram is amazing.

The holy and divine vicinity around the Haram is amazing. You just need to have the right information of whereabouts. Before you start walking on your will, try to gather information about where and how to reach in time. Don't go on your will and wild guesses as it will make you walk longer than you would ever expect. Also be careful about the food you buy, I had bitter experience of having food at pakistani and bangladeshi restaurants. please avoid local restaurants. Go for reputed restaurants like Romansiah, AlBaik, Burgerizzer, Shawarmer etc. if you do not find them near your stay area, get food apps like Hungerstation, Noon food, etc. Every muslim must pay a visit, but before that you should seek proper guidance and have a solid planning.

Makkah is a truly unforgettable and deeply spiritual place.

Makkah is a truly unforgettable and deeply spiritual place. The atmosphere is peaceful yet powerful, especially around Masjid al-Haram, where seeing the Kaaba for the first time is an emotional and humbling experience. The city is well-organized to welcome millions of visitors, with clean facilities, helpful staff, and many nearby hotels and food options. Despite the crowds, there is a strong sense of unity, respect, and devotion among people from all over the world. Visiting Makkah is not just a journey—it is a life-changing experience that leaves a lasting impact on the heart and soul.

Our stay at Dhiafat Al Raja Hotel was truly pleasant. The best part I liked the most is its excellent location — the hotel is very close to Haram, which made every visit easy and comfortable. This convenience added great value to my trip, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to stay near Haram.

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. It was clean, well-maintained, and conveniently located near Haram, which was a huge plus. The only minor issue was that the shower area was a bit small, but it didn’t detract much from the overall experience. A good choice for a comfortable and clean stay!
