very clean hotel at a very good price, including breakfast, free parking in front of the hotel, 10 minutes walk to the historic center, very attentive friendly staff, has elevator and good internet, if you don't .The hotel has a swimming pool outside, a great view of Silves Castle and the historic district, from the 2nd floor you can see the river and the storks and their nests

We loved our stay at Quinta dos 4 Ventos, the place was exactly what we needed. It was secluded, yet close to the city of Silves, the kitchen was equipped more than enough, the pool was amazing and the views were beautiful.

Casa Dolce is centrally located in the old town. It's an old, very narrow house that has been sensitively and skillfully renovated. The hostess, Sally, has thought of everything a guest could need. From umbrellas to mosquito repellent, everything is there. The well-equipped kitchen includes not only plenty of spices but also a well-stocked refrigerator. The highlight is the beautiful roof terrace with its many plants. Sally is always available via WhatsApp and is very friendly and helpful.

The house was ABSOLUTELY amazing! All charming, very stylish. So big an spacious. Big kitchen to Cook together, fantastic terrace with small swimming pool, big terrace. Every corner and room was incredible! WE COULD NOT IMAGINE BETTER PLACE FOR A STAY. Host Silvia always helpful 🥰 even we had oranges left for the Juice Photos do not describe the beauty of the place. TOTALLY BEST OF THE BEST We have no words to describe how fantastic stay we had there! Obrigada 🩵

This ‘gem’ of a property is located in the relaxing, countryside of the beautiful Algarve. Cidália was the perfect host, nothing was too much trouble. The pool was great, we used it a lot and the games room was great fun. João, Cidálias’ son was just starting to launch a catering business and cooked us a delicious traditional Portuguese meal accompanied with Cocktails, (extra of course), perfect for a “night off”.

This place is outstanding.... it could not have been cleaner - even the toilet brush was absolutely pristine. Shampoo and gel in the bathroom. A really good quality hairdryer. The towels were of good quality... lovely and thick. There was an extension cord ready for plugging in chargers etc right next to the bed... didn't have to crawl around trying to find plugs. Plug for the bath was available so because I only have a shower at home, I was able to enjoy a bath. The location is quiet and close to town, with a great spot for parking on the property. The lady who checked us in was sweet, helpful and so kind. A request for a restaurant recommendation elicited a response from the host who responded immediately to every message and the lady who checked us in - she provided a business card. We went to the seafood restaurant suggested and it was beyond amazing!

A beautiful, mediaeval town with a castle and lots of local history. Fantastic restaurants of all kinds, the local residents are exceptionally helpful and welcoming. Don't come here for a wild time, it is several miles from a beach but you can easily get there by car or taxi, and there are no night clubs here either. Just go for the culture, countryside and the wonderful food and wine. NB>>the castle and cathedral are up a very long and steep hill with slippery, cobbled narrow roads, so consider this if you are of restricted mobility.

I liked everything about this town.

I liked everything about this town. There was a lot of lovely restaurants also. The river walk is wonderful and great to see the local people out enjoying themselves. Musaika restaurant has marvellous food and people lovely. Traditional Fado singer and musicians on Sunday nights - superb. A lovely refined heritage town. The castle is also very beautiful with lovely gardens.

Silves is a small town with a river running through it that...

Silves is a small town with a river running through it that isn't too "Touristy". There are plenty of bars, restaurants, shops and cafes. The cathederal and the Castle are worh a visit and the Medieval festival was jolly! Beaches are an easy drive away Its great if you're looking for a quieter holiday but still with enough variety of places to eat to keep you going for a week or two!

Loads of interesting history and some amazing locations to visit. Everywhere was walking distance, although some may find some of the inclines a little challenging. Ubers are plenty, cheap and the drivers are very professional and friendly. Indeed everyone there was, in my experience, friendly and welcoming and very helpful. I always felt very welcome and at ease. The restaurants and bars were great - the food and drink (especially the rose wine and port), was exceptional. Just one word of warning - the mosquitoes (certainly in April) were voracious and vicious. Take some repellant with you, along with your favourite antihistamine if you are sensitive to insect bites.

Silves is a pretty and traditional Portugeese town with history and architecture and facilities for the tourist. It is a good place to visit. The deserted and boarded up trainstation looks like something out of an old western. Taking the train in the Algarve is great, but sad that the people let their trainstations decay. This is an otherwise great inroad to Silves but two kilometers from town. A geographical oddity.

I am spending three months in Portugal, travelling around,...

I am spending three months in Portugal, travelling around, and Silves is one of my favourite finds. I loved all the storks and their nests, the castle on the top of the hill, and the abundance of nature. Our favourite restaurant was Cafe Ingles near the castle where we had a late dinner. There is a coffee shop, Ana & Joana, in a corner by the castle, which served amazing upside down orange cake. The owner was very kind and accommodating and made the visit memorable. We walked most of the time and found it easy to get around. When we were looking for the museum, I stepped into an art shop and the owner came out on the street to point me in the right direction.

Another visit to the lovely Colina dos Mouros. This hotel is so well positioned, looking across to Silves Castle and cathedral. The outdoor area has always been very pleasant, but the gardens are now immaculate. Made good use of the pool on this visit. Very good value for money with breakfast included. Very pleasant staff.

Lovely views over the garden and pool if you request such. Also very quiet. Lots of parking on the safe streets of Silves. Breakfast was plentiful and well presented. The dining room is located in the charming cellar full of vintage port wines and antique items. That alone is worth a visit.

I can’t say enough about this place! It was our favourite hotel on our Portugal trip. The room was spacious and decorated beautifully. The restaurant was amazing with the best breakfast! Silves is a great little town and Mosaiko 5 is in the perfect location. It was a great experience!
