Although we were 3 hours late for check-in, the hosts waited for us. The location is a bit remote, but therefore very special and worth a visit. Excellent breakfast.

It’s a charming old hotel with truly amazing staff. You can tell that some renovations have been done, though a few imperfections remain. The swimming pool is fantastic, offering a wonderful view, and the staff there are especially attentive. Breakfast is good, but it could be improved, as the amount of food served varied from day to day. A few practical upgrades would also make a big difference: consistent daily room cleaning and providing enough towels (we sometimes had to wait for ours to be washed and dried). Overall, I can see real effort being made to improve the guest experience, and I hope the owner succeeds. The hotel has everything it needs to become a truly wonderful place to stay.

We either were very lucky, or we paid more than other guests. We were placed in the suite. Everything you wanted was in there. So clean too! Ok, you had to walk 70 metres to the restaurant for dinner and breakfast, but sat outside in the huge courtyard, being entertained by an excellent guitarist/singer was a most relaxing way to order your after dinner drinks to. Dinner menu slightly limited but buffet breakfast was everything you could imagine.

After a few weeks of trekking along the coast and staying in hostels, I was looking for a little hideout in the mountains. So I booked a doubleroom with shared bathroom which is just to be shared with one other person. The House is spacious, cosy and it truly feels like a home. If you love cooking, there is a perfectly equipped kitchen. The fews from the terrace above the green valleys with the glimmering Atlantic at the far horizon are so beautiful and calming. Once a week there is a yoga lesson which you can join if you like. Or just enroll your mat and enjoy yoga or workout with the wonderful few. Rita is sooo nice, I just felt like knowing her forever :) I love this place!!!
