I could write an essay about our stay in Casal dos Capelinhos, because it was the best stay we ever had. From the start to finish, everything was beyond perfection. The location, the room, the views just incredible! What made this place special were people there, we adore every single one of them. They made us feel like home and we were very sad when we had to go. Me and my family will come back for sure, and for a longer period next time, because this place made us feel relaxed and we enjoyed it so much. Casal dos Capelinhos is very secure, the property is very big and beautiful. There is fruit garden below the main house and we were enjoying oranges and mandarines everyday. One of the most special things about this place is the food. We had breakfast and dinner everyday and it was just so good. I can not express how awesome and delicious all the food was. Marlene, the chef, she is the sweetest and let me tell you, she knows how to cook. While writing this review, we are just checking when can we come back. :)

An Awesome hotel in the vineyards. Friendly , helpful and enthusiastic staff, terrific view from the rooms. Breakfast was excellent, eggs cooked to order and plenty of options. Glass of port wine on arrival. Rooms were clean.

When we arrived, we were met by the hostess of the quinta, Helena. She walked us through the main floor entrance area, explaining the history of the building with pride. I almost cried as I walked around: it was breathtaking! We could feel the love of Helena & Ricardo everywhere within their home. Such attention to detail, and the details were plentiful! Everywhere you turned, there was something that caught our eyes. As we had arrived late in the day, we were exhausted and starving. We asked if it was possible to get something to eat. The most beautiful charcuterie board was made up for us, and an outstanding wine was recommended by their charming & humourous sommelier/maitre d'/server, Johan! The wine was so great that we took a 2nd bottle up to our room for a nightcap. Our room was beautiful & comfortable, complete with a terrace outside that led to the infinity pool. The pool overlooked the valley, adding another level of beauty to our stay. The breakfasts were varied, fresh and plentiful! Such a great selection, from amazing fresh breads, farm fresh yogourt, eggs done to your liking, artisanal cheeses, homemade granola, beautiful fresh fruit, incredible fresh orange juice...I could go on and on and on.....!!!!! The property is vast: we took a long walk up the paths & terraces to new heights overlooking their little piece of heaven. The views all around were so incredibly peaceful & beautiful! This was the last stop on our journey through Portugal and definitely our favourite! Sometimes you meet people on your journey who you just connect with. Helena & Ricardo are 2 of those special people to us, becoming instant friends. They are truly the heart & soul of Quinta de Travassinhos.

There is nothing not to like about this property. It was like magic after the craziness of being in Porto. All I wanted to do was curl up somewhere in the very cozy but spacious surrounding and snoop through their photo albums and portraits dating back 100 plus years. The couple that run the place are charming and warm. It's a generational family property. I would have liked to get to know them a little more but we were only there 2 days and we should have tried to extend our time. The house is stunning the grounds are beautiful. The breakfast in the morning was perfect. Fresh croissants, cheese and cold cuts and fresh orange juice. The coffee and tea mugs were huge which I also love. Sitting on the front porch in the morning is a must. The china was gorgeous and the table was set beautifully. Its on a winery they make their own Wine, Port and Olive oil. While sitting by the pool you can watch swallows dipping in for a drink. For anyone who is religiously inclined there's a little chapel on the property too. Surrounded by lemon trees and grape vines. Heaven. Thank you.

The location was convenient, it was really close to the railway station. The bed was really comfortable for sleeping. The quality of the breakfast was amazing. The door handle was broken when i was in the room, but the staff fixed it once they got informed.

Staff was really helpful and gave great info and directions on the area. We had dinner both nights at the hotel and it was all really good. The view from the room is amazing and the area around the hotel is really quite.

    This is a great place to spend the best time in the Douro Valley and enjoy the surroundings with the best views, terrace vineyards and wineries. The outdoor pool attracts you even more, especially if you have a teenager who wants to spend time around the pool / beach.

    Mainly stayed in the Quinta @casaldoscapelinhos Loved this place. Food, wine, sleep perfect for family and wine lovers. My stay was very short but it has breathtaking views. So peaceful and beautiful even your soul can feel it. Will come back to discover more.
