A fantastic short break. For the price, you would struggle to find anything better in terms of a hotel/spa experience. Very easy to get to from Porto, what really makes the place special is the staff, who made our whole experience as welcoming and comfortable as it could possibly be

Beautiful room in a very pretty house at the south bank of the Douro close to great hikes. The host was outstandingly friendly and helpful and the breakfast was the best and biggest we had in all our trip. Full of home made food. Great experience and definitely recommended.

The house is beautiful, both inside and outside, located in a picturesque spot, with the perfect view, 5 mins walk downhill to a lovely beach by the river and a romantic coffee-bar. It was like a little heaven - a place you fantasize to be at. The owner was warm, helpful and friendly. We will defenetly be back one day! Wish it could be tomorrow :)

Dourwin is unique in every way. The location is spectacular and unmatched on the Douro, the design, finish quality, and facilities are all exceptional. And the welcome, friendliness and professionalism of all the staff could not be bettered. Most guest will drive there - don’t be alarmed by the steep road but check out Google maps before you go - you can drive all the way to the property which is on Maps and park outside. We consciously chose a small room but the clever design and the lounge downstairs worked perfectly for us. Super comfortable bed and good a/c. Outside is also 5 star in every way - if anything the photos understate how wonderful it is - views in every direction and seats and loungers in different places make it a perfect place to just relax. In fact, so relaxing and pleasant we didn’t do much exploring of the area itself as planned - saving that for our return visit. The restaurant is Michelin star level and so good we ate there both nights and wished we could have had a 3rd go. Imaginative menu, very well cooked high quality ingredients, friendly attentive service and very reasonable price given the standard. Breakfast perfect in every way - variety, quality and quantity - best pastel de nata in 11 years of eating experience🙂 Manuela and her team should be proud of everything they have created, great skill in design and construction have created a stylish well managed and super hospitable environment. we’ll be back.
