I enjoyed Riberia Grande.

I enjoyed Riberia Grande. It is a great place to situate yourself if you are planning to visit different areas of the island. The public swimming pools and ocean access was fantastic. I enjoyed going to the courtyard area in my area nightly to eat and enjoy a glass of wine. Took a little getting used to the serving staff here as they did not seem interested in their customers. Upon searching Google, I found out this may be because they are paid a decent living wage and therefore not reliant on tips. This makes it even more confusing as to why they would not be receptive to their customers.

We loved the quiet beauty of the home.

We loved the quiet beauty of the home. Clean and comfortable and everything we needed was there. We enjoyed a tour of the East side with Manuel. Hot springs were lovely if you don’t mind walking on the basalt.

We wanted an authentic, non-touristy area to base ourselves. That’s Ribeira Grande. Pretty town with all amenities (grocery, laundry, museums), gorgeous town square and walkability. Nice access to rest of island for hikes. Friendly locals. Chocolatino, Tukatula, O Canadiano, Pacheco, casa de Pasto Flor-all great restaurants for varying appetites. Azores Brewing-excellent beer and fun vibe.

Ribeira Grande was accessible to drive everywhere on Sao Miguel; a 20 minute drive to the airport, Wonderful little restaurant Mare Nostre on the water was a great find; close to the Continente and Pingo Doce for groceries.

We loved the penthouse Monte Azul in Ribeira Grande.

We loved the penthouse Monte Azul in Ribeira Grande. The location was easy to find, there was always street parking available. The apartment was beautifully equipped and overlooked the shoreline. We really enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the waves and the sunset. We were able to walk to several restaurants in the area, and getting there from Ponta Delgada was roughly 25 minutes.

The staff was very attentive and sincere. We had a delicious breakfast at the Resort daily. The beach was an integral part of a relaxing stay. Once you become accustomed to a round-about, you'll be fine driving. The city of Ribeira Grande is very walkable too.

I liked everything about this hotel. The location is beautiful, overseeing a beach that we have direct access to, with beautiful views all around. The room was more like a whole house, with living room, kitchenette, beautiful stone shower/bath, and a rope swing and jacuzzi. The breakfast food was amazing, and the dinner we had there was really good too. The staff were friendly and helpful, and offer a welcome drink during check-in. The bathroom products were also really good and local.

This feels like a quaint bed & breakfast. The location is great, you’re literally on the beach and it’s a good spot to travel the island from. The staff were so friendly and helpful, they welcomed us with tea from the island and home made cake. The bedrooms were clean and the whole hotel was nicely decorated. Breakfast was a continental style tat was full of local foods and breads, it was perfect for getting you started for your day.

Rose Apartment A was a really good choice to stay in Ribeira Grande. Check-in was very easy - we obtained a number code before our arrival (it is good that you do not need any key to bring with you all the time). The flat is quite big, the bathroom is huge with double shower. :) There is a small parking place just next the corner (or you can park on the street if it is full).

Everything was perfect. The room was really equipped. It is near to a beautiful square in Ribeira Grande. The beds are very comfortable and everything is clean. The staff's attention was very close and quick at all times. The parking zone is key for a comfortable stay. It is difficult to park in other sites.
