I had a great stay at the Monte Mar Palace Hotel, the room is of high quality and very spacious. I particularly wonder how they manage to make the bed linen (embroidered with the hotel logo) so soft. I had a single room (with a view of the mountains) and I wonder how big they can get. The receptionist, Raimundo (who speaks English, French and German!), was really friendly and very helpful, giving me the walking tips I needed, which secured my next leg. Check-in went smoothly and I was immediately offered a pool towel with the recommendation to use the pools. The outdoor pool with sun loungers is beautiful with a paranomic view of the sea. The heated indoor pool with Jacuzzi is spacious. There is also a spa and a lobby area with large comfy sofas and even a mini-golf course, just infront of the pool if you fancy a go. The breakfast buffet is great - with lots of choice. As a side tip, just outside the hotel is Kare's Café, where I had a good portion of beef picado and toasted garlic bread, along with a pint of Carol! It may be a simple café but the service is amazing, the friendly young Maderian waiter speaks perfect English and was really helpful in explaining the drinks and food.

Loved location and nice ppl running the hotel and restaurant, almost every room has ocean view it was great, we even managed to work from there on one day, internet was working fine. I loved surrounding and entire ponta delgada, it is sucj a perfect location if you like being away from crowds and it is still close to all attractions we managed to see entire island staying there and only had to fuel car once I would recommend checking out local waterfals and trails

Great place to stay and relax right next to local supermarket and bar. Very happy with the service - requested early check in and got fast response from owner. The apartment was roomy, clean and comfortable. Recommended!

Everything is just great. The hotel surrounding is beautiful with stunning views, you can watch the sunrise from the balcony or just outside the hotel. Great breakfast with huge choice of food. We had a vila which was very spacious and well equipped, even with an own fireplace :) The staff was super friendly. There is also a walking path that will bring you down to the beach, which is not far, just it is little steep. Definitely recommend for families with kids - they can enjoy the pool area as well as playing room with billiard, table tennis and table football.

    Ponta Delgada is a quiet and beautiful place.

    Ponta Delgada is a quiet and beautiful place. From here you can easily travel in all directions of this beautifull island by car. Access to the Atlantic Ocean is rare. If there is an access, it is almost always rocky - you should be sure-footed here. There are hardly any sandy beaches, we didn't find any. During the season there is a small public swimming pool in Ponta Delgada.

    Beautiful unspoilt village with a great pool by the sea that is popular with locals. Lots of lovely walks and amazing scenery as the mountains comes down into the ocean. Good roads to drive here as you come through the tunnels so 35 mins to Funchal and 10 mins to Sao Vicente.

    Lovely little apartment near the centre of Ponta Delgada. Super clean, comfortable, and modern! Excellent welcome instructions from the host that made our arrival easy (especially as we were two hours delayed). The balcony was great for evening drinks and snacks. The back garden is indeed shared, but we saw no one during our staff and it was a lovely spot for breakfast. Also loved the Nespresso machine for coffee! Nice touch. Laundry facilities were very welcome! Parking was super easy and on the flat (which is rare on Madeira!).

    Perfect stay! Located 30 seconds from the bus stop in the very centre of town, this hotel provides all the amenities and services required for a comfortable stay. The management were enthusiastic, friendly, professional, articulate and dedicated, complimenting the cosy rooms and all-round positive vibes of the entire establishment. Breakfast was prompt and satisfying, with pastries, meats, cheeses, juices, coffee/teas and jams, and situated in an airy space with a terrace. Everything was great. Would recommend.

    The hotel seats in very nice calm area without any noise from the streets. You hear and see just the see and couple of houses around. Beautiful view at the cliffs ending in the see. The hosts are very nice people with sense of humor and their hospitality is just perfect. Take care of the stuffs, who share beautiful smiles :)
