Our stay at the farmhouse was absolutely incredible! From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was exceptional, and the house itself was stunning. Six nights felt far too short – we simply didn't want to leave. The breathtaking view and the beautiful BBQ area overlooking the vineyard and countryside were truly unforgettable. We also loved the delightful company of the dogs, and the amazing food and wine made our trip truly special. We even had the pleasure of tasting some of the most delicious jams we've ever had, especially the incredible quince and peach varieties! A highlight was undoubtedly the cellar tour and tasting of the delicious port wines. Our hosts were incredibly kind, caring, and shared so much knowledge (along with some truly wonderful cooking!). This has easily been one of our favorite stays ever and will be hard to beat. We highly recommend this farmhouse for anyone seeking a genuine Portuguese experience and a wonderfully relaxing stay amidst beautiful surroundings, a gorgeous pool, and lovely gardens. We'll definitely be back!

We were three people staying in a triple room. It was clean and spacious with a bottle of water for each person. No coffee facilities in the room. The bathroom was spacious. Everything was as described on the amenities list. We drove by car and parking space was available infront of the hotel. We went for a walk along the river and was amazed by the amount of fish, birds and fruit trees that we saw along the river. There is a wonderful restaurant just next door. A very nice breakfast was included in the price.

I had an absolutely delightful stay at this lovely house! It is a well-maintained, beautifully designed house—spacious, quiet, and in excellent condition. Everything was spotlessly clean, which made the experience even more relaxing. The breakfast was delicious with a variety of options to choose from, setting the perfect tone for the day. The owner also offers some fantastic wines, which were a real treat in the evenings. Highly recommended!

Luisa was incredible! We stayed 3 nights here and loved our time. It was relaxing and filled with making us feel at home! She provided us with a fridge full of food upon arrival and a small bottle of her own wine. Each morning she bought us fresh bread, cakes, eggs, juice etc which was such a nice touch! As we were heading out one morning she caught us and showed us the wine being made in the process which was fantastic to see! Always a text or call away and lots of recommendations and even offer to use the pool in her other property. We couldn’t recommend this place more - perfect location for a stay in the Douro Valley!

It is a brand new renovation of a very old property in a Portuguese village so if you want all mod cons (well appointed kitchenette, washing machine, dishwasher, A/C etc) but away from the tourists it is the place for you. Luisa the owner is kind, helpful and generous. We loved the fresh bread, fruit and basic supplies left for us.

We booked a last-minute getaway to Casa d'Arcã and were greeted with exceptional hospitality by Luisa. Upon arrival, she first showed us to our room and then treated us to a delightful Portuguese port and tonic in the garden. The accommodation has been tastefully renovated and decorated, making it a true pleasure to stay in such a beautiful setting. The breakfast was simply outstanding. Every morning, Luisa would bake a fresh cake, and every detail was meticulously taken care of. It was a true delight. After returning from our long days exploring the Douro Valley, Luisa kindly offered us a warm bowl of soup at the kitchen table, where we had wonderful conversations with her and fellow guests. Luisa is a gem - incredibly attentive and genuinely committed to ensuring her guests have a memorable vacation experience. This location comes highly recommended! Casa d'Arcã is a hidden gem and a fantastic choice for anyone looking for an authentic and welcoming place to stay in the Douro Valley.
