We booked this apartment at the last minute when other booked apartments suddenly completely lost power. The hostess confirmed the booking instantly and was very welcoming. We are glad we ended up here on our way to Monsanto from Lisbon. This is a spacious, extra-clean, modern apartment with all amenities, freshly renovated, comfortable beds, modern appliances, fully equipped kitchen and air conditioning. We felt at home here.

Excellent staff support. Any questions were answered straight away. Lady who cleaned and made breakfast really nice and helpful. I will definitely recommend this hotel to others and stay again if unable to stay with family, where I normally stay. Communal well equipped kitchen with a big table was a great bonus. Comfortable bed and clean room made my stay very pleasant.

We arrived after dark on a very wet evening so we were glad of the simple instructions we'd received for getting into the property. The house is on the main road through the village and parking on the street outside was very convenient. We appreciated having a well-equipped separate kitchen as well as a sitting room and comfortable bedroom. A short walk down the street brought us to a mini-market-cum-cafe - an additional bonus.

Casinha dos Avos provided a complement of 2 couples and an additional personal with a very enjoyable stay in a quaint and idyllic location (Escalos the Cima). The location is very close to the city of Castelo Branco, yet private and secluded. The cobblestone paving of the narrow access streets, along with stone walls of the small village homes, made the morning stroll to the local cafe and church a delight.

    Dont book the room without checking you can stand up in the bathroom ,when a male is going to the toilet. I am 5ft 3 and I had to bend over to wee . Headroom must have been about 5ft. Front garden looked like a tip. Room was in the antic ,with very limited head room on one side . Being at the top of the house .The heat was unbearable. We had to go out and buy a decent fan that worked well. I asked for another room as we are both in our 60s ,nothing was done. Little service here. Also it is up three flights of stairs
