Beautiful spacious house in a great location with amazing views of the sea and of Mount Pico. The house was well kitted out with everything we needed and the welcome basket of local products was much appreciated. The owner was very helpful and communicative and we'd recommend staying here.

Great village type house surrounded by wonderful garden with oranges, lemons and a view to Pico mountain. Despite the fact that everything is a bit oldish, accomodation place is fully equipped and very spacious when traveling with family. The owner was very helpful and fast when we asked him to explain how to open a gas pipe in a kitchen in order to prepare a meal. Wi Fi connection also worked well.

This is an authentic house with a large terrace and a stunning view of the ocean and São Jorge Island – a perfect place to stay and enjoy peaceful evenings after busy days exploring the island. Really high spec hostel. Immaculate. Excellent facilities. With lots of nice touches, a herb garden, nice books, flowers in reception, there were two toilets in the dorm room. It’s been really well thought out and designed. João and the family really care and want guests to have the best stay. Being welcomed and cared for is such a lovely feeling.

    A nice little town with several good restaurants.

    A nice little town with several good restaurants. We visited in September and some restaurants were closed so we needed to book some of the more popular ones. Whaling museum interesting to understand previous culture and history of the Azores. Supermarket and a few small shops. We used this as our base. The roads on the whole were good between Lajes and other places of interest. There is a little windmill which is very picturesque especially at night when it is lit up. Lovely sunsets.

    Lajes do Pico is a small and very cute town.

    Lajes do Pico is a small and very cute town. It is clean and well maintained and has a few nice restaurants. We liked walking along the shore, eating at Ritinha restaurant, and eating Pastel de Nata at the Pastellaria.
