Wonderful hotel - a great place to escape and relax! Beautifully designed and very comfortable rooms. An excellent menu and really good breakfast (the fruit plate was a highlight!). All the staff were easy going and very helpful, which for us made it all the more relaxing. The massages we had in the spa were exceptional. Thank you! 💛

The location was not too far of a walk from the bus station or the city center/beach. The house is very clean, nicely decorated, and had a full kitchen for us to use. It even had some cookies we could snack on! The bed was super comfy and we had an amazing view from our bedroom. Our host was very friendly and provided us with many non-touristy and authentic suggestions for food, drink, surfing and night life. He was a great host and welcomed us like friends! We would be so happy to vacation here again :)

This was a really nice, comfortable place to stay in Ericeira. I was there for 5 or 6 days. I don't know how it compares for price against other lodgings in the centro historico, but probably pretty favorably or I wouldn't have booked a stay here in the first place (I generally stay in more economical or mid-range places). Casa dos Cucos is sort of a hybrid hostel-hotel: my private room was amply sized, two big windows, two twin beds; bathrooms are shared but there are enough, so no traffic jams; a couple of large common areas with big tables; a large and excellently appointed shared kitchen, with a dishwasher, no less. The place, in an old building just off Old Town's main square, Praça da Republica, was beautifully renovated and simply and tastefully furnished, and even includes a small patio outside the kitchen door. And as can happen at the more fun hostels I've stayed at over the years, I met and had some great conversations with a few of the other guests, interesting people from all sorts of different places. This is less apt to happen if you're in and out in just a night or two, of course. The hostel even puts bathrobes in the rooms, for getting to and from the bathrooms. A very nice touch, and I got a good laugh from it. I am quite a large man, almost 2 meters and 115 kg. The bathrobe barely reached to the critical areas and wouldn't close around my waist. Not even close. It might have fit my 9-year-old granddaughter. Maybe. Not a problem, for sure a good laugh. To characterize a bit further: As I was hiking down the steep hill from the bus station to Casa dos Cucos in the rain, I contacted Miguel to let him know I was about 20 minutes from checking in, as he had asked me to do. Unbidden, he called me back, figured out where I was, told me to stay put for a couple of minutes, and came to pick me up in his car! How cool was that for him to do?
