WE CHOSE THIS PROPERTY FOR THE FAMILY HOLIDAYS. WE STAYED IN TOMATO ROOM FOR ONE WEEK (2 ADULTS + 2 CHILDREN) THAT FITS US PERFECTLY. THE POOL WAS GREAT. DAILY CLEANED SURROUNDING AREAS AND THE BEST BREAKFAST WITH THE TASTIEST ORANGE JUICE EVER (FROM THE FARM ORANGE TREES) AND OF COURSE, ANOTHER LOCAL PRODUCTS. WE MISS ALL OF YOU 🐶 🐴🦚. This was a fantastic stay. Adults only so it was very quiet and there are lots of quiet spaces to read your book. Five minutes from Altivo (which is a gorgeous little town), but their property is out in the olive fields under starry skies. Sandra and Kurt were very welcoming and our space was the cleanest we have ever stayed in - you “could eat off the floor”. The gardens are amazing - there is a fabulous pool and lots of fruit trees. They have a really good set up and our space was very private. They provide a scrumptious breakfast (but we were too full from the night before to eat a cooked breakfast!) so they provided homemade jams from their fruit trees for us to put on our toast. Try their Apricot jam, it is sooo delicious. We would be happy to recommend this stay to anyone wanting a quiet getaway. It was fabulous.

The Green House was truly spectacular. We stayed here with a group for a full week and loved everything about it. Set in a sleepy village in the middle of the Portuguese countryside it takes inspiration from the local area and local tradition but makes it more refined. It epitomizes quiet luxury, with elegant and tasteful decor (it takes farmhouse chic to a whole new level), a beautiful pool, and a delightful outdoor dining area where you can savor the in-house chef's amazing food and their spectacular wine selection, from morning until night. At the Green House, you can do as much or as little as you like. Want to go for a bike ride and explore the countryside? Fancy exploring some of the absolutely superb local vineyards or restaurants? Want to have a kayaking or beach day? Or just fancy lying by the pool with a cocktail in hand? The team at the Green House was always ready to help, giving us ideas and insider tips about this lovely, undiscovered region of Portugal. And that is what makes this place really special - the service. Nothing was a problem for the team. They were dedicated to making our group's stay as special as possible, not only providing suggestions but also helping us with all the logistics to ensure every part of our trip was magical. The Alentejo is still a true undiscovered gem and with the team's help, we learned so much more about it than er ever could have imagined. While the hotel is fairly new, the owners draw on their many years of experience at the sister hotel Santiago de Alfama in Lisbon (where I have stayed several times) and you could tell. The same attention to detail and excellent service are reflected in this charming countryside oasis. An absolute must if you head to the Alentejo.

    More of a village than a town with quirky streets. Very well located for touring this part of the Alentejo region; 25 miles from Evora and similar distance from Beja. Visit the dam near Alqueva for fabulous views of the Barragem de Alqueva.

    a delightful village in a calm environment- for a break it was wonderful. we overnighted there en route to the central region of Portugal. For that it was an easy stop. We could have spent a few more days there, relaxing, especially if it had not been lockdown

    Beautiful place, very peaceful. Very tiny village so not a lot to do in the immediate waking area but doesn’t matter as being in the hotel is so restful. The staff are all amazing- friendly, caring and professional.. would definitely recommend

    Very cool to stay the night in a castle this old, staff were very friendly and helpful. Alvito is a very small community and is very quiet. It was nice to experience this little community and get off the main tourist path for a while.
