Absolutely remarkable. We leave Natur Amêndoa with full hearts, having found a true slice of paradise — a place to pause, breathe, and listen to the pure sounds of nature. Laura, in particular, has a magnetic presence and an incredible gift for hosting — you feel as though you’ve known her for years. Everything reflects their dedication: the thoughtful details, the care poured into every corner, and the evident pride in their entrepreneurial journey. There’s a deep joy in how they share their local heritage with guests. And the view — THE VIEW! What a gift to wake up surrounded by the gentle embrace of nature’s hills. Breakfast is also a plus, and you can tell how much care Laura puts into preparing it every morning. It’s served in a long table, a chance to have a little morning chat with the owners and other guests. The location is perfect — remote, yes, but isn’t that the point? A remote location, great for walks and fairly close to a couple of small towns by car.... which is needed. The sound of birds during the day was lovely. The view over the hills, the sound of farm animals... such a great place to unwind.

Alcoutim is a beautiful town, very friendly and calm.

Alcoutim is a beautiful town, very friendly and calm. We ate at restaurants BH and O Contrabandista which were both exceptional. You can take a small boat 5 minutes across the river to Spain to another small town. There is a cool zip wire for 20 euros which crosses the border back to Portugal. There is lots of 14th century history in both towns. Legend says it’s a place where contraband was smuggled during battles. The overall peacefulness of the place is very relaxing and pleasant.

The hotel was very clean, the room pleasant but small, very quiet and peaceful excellent for chilling out. Not a lot to see, restricted in restaurants, trip to Spain via the small ferry interesting, but again very little to see. Surrounding area worth a visit

The hotel is set in a quiet location and has great views...

The hotel is set in a quiet location and has great views across the river (Spain is on the other side). The town of Alcoutim has good restaurants within walking distance ( 10 to 15 minutes). The hotel seems to attract Portuguese families with young children so the pool was always busy and noisy. The town has a small ferry boat to take you to the other side or take you on trips up and down the river (30 minutes or 1 hour for 7.50 euros or 15 euros respectively). There is also a river beach nearby but we did not use it. There are canoes, kayaks and jet-skis to hire very close to the hotel. The hotel room does not provide tea/coffee-making facilities. When we asked for a kettle they said they only had one which they needed for breakfast.

Alcoutim is a place good for rest and have some activities. Near to Algarve beaches and near to Spain is a nice place to stay, but Managers should pay more atention and be able to do more to increase the profits.

A nice little village in the inner part of Algarve, close to...

A nice little village in the inner part of Algarve, close to the Spanish border. There isn't much to do there, but if you are looking for a place to get some rest away from everything, you will find it in Alcoutim. It gets HOT on Summer days, locals said it also gets COLD in Winter. There are some monuments worth a visit, there are a handful of restaurants, there are some river activities. There is only a very small groceries shop, there are no supermarkets.

The hotel was very nice, rooms and facilities always clean. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was really nice, selection wasn't large but what was on offer was good quality and very tasty. The views from the pool area are beautiful.
