We had a wonderful stay! The view over the village is absolutely stunning. Getting to the hotel was a bit of an adventure, but definitely doable and worth it. The rooms were well-equipped, especially considering the remote location. The food was very good, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend!

The personal service was exceptional, with Eshaq, the host, going above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and memorable stay. One of the best things about Oman is how they have managed to make their heritage and tradition an intrinsic part of the tourist experience, and nowhere exemplified that better than Misfah Heritage House. The house and entire village have been lovingly restored and maintained, and the attention to detail and making things harmonious is something to behold. It is like a living museum, but the whole community have taken practical steps to make it work for them and visitors. Hamed takes the time to give the guests a hugely informative tour of the village once they arrive, and with his family being resident for generations, there is no better person. He and the rest of the staff live and breathe Misfah and their love of the village informs all decisions about how to share it. We didn't have time to explore the option, but they offer several touring experiences in the area to suit different interests and fitness levels. The room was comfortable serene and calm with the main concession to modernity being aircon, which was welcome! They also offer a dinner option, which was a very satisfying mix of warm and cold dishes in a great dining space that overlooks the date farm and looks across to the new village. Breakfast is served in the same space and it is equally charming in the morning. The village is easily explored from there and there are several wonderful walks in the vicinity. The chief draw however is still probably Hamed and the rest of staff who have a wealth of stories and advice. Their tourism approach is something that could be replicated through the rest of Oman, but maybe not their warmth and hospitality which is entirely their own.

We had a wonderful stay at Ahmed’s guest house. Ahmed is an exceptional host — welcoming, generous, and passionate about sharing the beauty of his village and his country. Despite it being the low season, he greeted us warmly and made us feel truly at home. He took the time to share fascinating stories about the history of the area, his traditional Omani house (over 200 years old!), and his beautiful farm and fruit fields. He also gave us plenty of helpful tips and recommendations about things to see and do in the region and across Oman. If you’re looking for a genuine experience in a charming and peaceful setting, we strongly recommend staying at Ahmed’s guest house. It was a highlight of our trip

Jason and Salim delivered unprecendented service! The entire team was very helpful. They helped to maintain a problem I was having with my car, and then were very attentive when I was ill, offering to take me to the clinic. They also asked me to call from anywhere if I ever had any problems during my day trips. We were treated as part of the family. The hotel and rooms are well organised, with good bathrooms and walk-in showers. The bed is extremely comfortable, and the soundproofing is great.

This place ticked all the boxes for a great family getaway. The location was perfect, offering a stunning view that we never got tired of. Fast and stable internet made staying connected easy, and the generous breakfast spread was a real treat every morning. The host was friendly and welcoming, and the master bedroom had wonderfully comfortable beds. The kids absolutely loved the playroom, and the pool was a hit with the whole family. Small tip for the host: adding a floor squeegee in the bathroom would help keep the floor dry. Other than that, everything was spot on!
