I rarely give 10 points: only when the place has something special to offer that makes your stay memorable. We really enjoyed our stay at the guesthouse. The staff was very kind and helpful. The dinners were amazing and plentiful. The guesthouse provided a 'time travel' vibe. The surroundings are also special with the date fields: a little oasis and the ancient town within walking distance. I must also mention the small coffee shop next to this guesthouse: I had my best espresso there in Oman.

This lovely guest house is a family property with gorgeous views of the valley and the surrounding mountains. The best part of our stay was the owner with his hospitality! He helped us get to Jebel Shams, hiked with us and even brought along Omani coffee and dates. He also recommended an interesting house-museum nearby that we could visit (and see some demos) and gave us other tips. If you are tired after checking in they can also order delivery food for you. There's an indoor pool that you can use for free, just ask the ladies. Thank you for everything!

It was a wonderful stay in Emina's guesthouse. Located in the old town of Haram, a small village, the property is a wonderful architectural gem with a fantastic roof terrace and great panoramic views of the mountains. The food is very lovingly prepared, I loved enjoying breakfast on the terrace. The room is beautiful, there are warm blankets, a very nice bathroom (with hot water) and I like the mix of modern and traditional. I was particularly impressed by the traditional beamed ceiling. The accommodation is easy to reach, there is a car park and is ideal for hiking or strolling through the beautiful (and huge) palm park that is directly adjacent. The accommodation is very safe and my every wish was met. An ideal place for travelers who want to stay in an authentic place. 5 stars and best wishes to Emina! (ps: she is a great professional photographer! all the pictures in the property are by her)

The hotel is located in the amazing historical center of Misfah al Abriyyin. It is situated in the center of the village in original houses that have been reconstructed for hotel purposes. We stayed in room number 1, which was spacious, clean, and had an authentic impression. Upon our arrival, the receptionist welcomed us with coffee and dates. I recommend taking a walk through the streets around the hotel; this place is truly magical. Dinner and breakfast were served on the rooftop of the hotel. It was an amazing experience to enjoy a meal with a beautiful view — you can see the sunset and sunrise. If you want to have a really nice experience, visit the Harit al Abriyyin hotel.

One of the best things about Oman is how they have managed to make their heritage and tradition an intrinsic part of the tourist experience, and nowhere exemplified that better than Misfah Heritage House. The house and entire village have been lovingly restored and maintained, and the attention to detail and making things harmonious is something to behold. It is like a living museum, but the whole community have taken practical steps to make it work for them and visitors. Hamed takes the time to give the guests a hugely informative tour of the village once they arrive, and with his family being resident for generations, there is no better person. He and the rest of the staff live and breathe Misfah and their love of the village informs all decisions about how to share it. We didn't have time to explore the option, but they offer several touring experiences in the area to suit different interests and fitness levels. The room was comfortable serene and calm with the main concession to modernity being aircon, which was welcome! They also offer a dinner option, which was a very satisfying mix of warm and cold dishes in a great dining space that overlooks the date farm and looks across to the new village. Breakfast is served in the same space and it is equally charming in the morning. The village is easily explored from there and there are several wonderful walks in the vicinity. The chief draw however is still probably Hamed and the rest of staff who have a wealth of stories and advice. Their tourism approach is something that could be replicated through the rest of Oman, but maybe not their warmth and hospitality which is entirely their own.
