This lovely BnB was just what we needed after too many hostel dorms: quiet, spotlessly clean, cozy and close to Karangahake Gorge. Breakfast was yummy and we got plenty of recommendations for the next few days. Would highly recommend!

Our host Neil was incredibly friendly. He took us to see the Alpacas even though we arrived later than expected. He was extremely knowledgeable and made us feel very welcome. The accommodation was enough for us, very clean and overlooking beautiful rolling hills. Very peaceful and secluded, watched over by the resident curious (but shy) male Alpaca in the adjoining paddock. Neil even took the trouble to bring the alpacas over in the morning so that we could feed them. Would highly recommend and can not possibly give less than a 10/10!

What a great stay at Julie's place! Warm welcome for the check in, the house is so beautiful, we loved the attention to detail and the vintage furniture, such a cosy atmosphere! We had such a nice evening with Julie and her partner, + an experience we'll remember for a long time (thanks again to both of you for that)! The staff were very friemdly & helpfull. The unit had everthing including a tv in the bedroom. The bed was firm but comfy, there was also plenty of parking outside front of the unit. The bonus was the owner had two cats & a dog which loved spending time with the guests.

It is my hometown. I was here for a funeral of a very good friend. Most of the local haunts are still going but the old identities have long gone. Very pleased to see that the mining company fraternity support the town both in the hospitality industry and directly.

It's a beautiful town with an awesome beach.

It's a beautiful town with an awesome beach. It's close to other towns, so you can make day trips to Whitianga, Matamata, Tauranga, Coromandel, Te Puke, etc. We went to an animal farm, had a beach day, and took a train ride. There are lots of options to eat out, but be aware that the "nightlife" shuts down by 9 p.m.

Great central location with easy access to Waihi itself, and...

Great central location with easy access to Waihi itself, and area's such as Whiritoa, Whanagamata, Paeroa within easy driving distance. Great Steak at The Sterling pub. When coming into Waihi from Paeroa on a nice day, suggest stopping somewhere along the Karangahake gorge for a walk. Beautiful on a sunny day.

Waihi is a beautiful place to visit the locals are so friendly the shops are great there is a great amount of accommodation, the bush walks are awesome the river is beauiful & the beaches are fun & the weather is neither too hot or too cold

You can't go wrong in Waihi with fish and chips at Kelly's ,...

You can't go wrong in Waihi with fish and chips at Kelly's ,Ti Tree cafe for coffee and brunch and a stay at Araluen House with host Julie. The rim walk at Martha mine has attractive planting and is worth doing.

We visited Martha's Mine and the Ole Pump House.

We visited Martha's Mine and the Ole Pump House. This is quite cook esp the "Poppy Fence". Apparently, the walk right round the mine is 5kms so have an extra hour for that. Supermarkets were easy to find, likewise the take-aways shops. Lovely small town place.

What a great stay we had. Lauren is a lovely person, and great host. She was very welcoming and helpful. Her house is in a nice quiet location, and all the facilities were excellent. Perfect place for exploring the Coromandel and Tauranga coastline. Waihi is a lovely place, and the Karangahake Gorge was a cracking day out. Our stay went past way too quickly. I would recommend Lauren's place 100%, and if we're ever back in the area, will definately be booking with her again.

Great little place, quiet and set back from the road and surrounded by a lovely garden. It has just about everything you could need, we stayed 2 nights but it would definitely serve for longer stays as well. Good furnishings, well equipped kitchen, comfy bed, great shower. Easy check-in to get the keys, host sent clear instructions well in advance. We come to Waihi a few times a year and I would happily book this again.

We loved the historical aspect of the cottage, It was a warm and cosy cottage with everything we needed that was easy to find, tucked away by the old Waihi train station. We loved it so much that we will be back to stay for longer. One night wasnt enough. Also seeing trains pretty much out our front door was really cool.

Very courteous, helpful owners. The beds were comfortable with those superb 'Hotel' sheets and cases. Shower good pressure, roomy living room, very clean all round and plenty of opening windows.
