I had a nice one-night stay. Communication was quick and efficient, the room was comfortable and very clean, all looked very new. Nice bathroom and plenty of private parking space. Quiet residential area at the end of a cut-de-sac. No complaints whatsoever.

There are lots of things for visitors to do, or you can just chill out at the lakeshore and soak up the beautifully tranquil scenery. It really is my favourite place in the North Island and I always make a point of spending some time there whenever I am in New Zealand.

The lake is beautiful, especially the sunsets.

The lake is beautiful, especially the sunsets. Lots of coffee shops and restaurants to choose from. Easy to get to Huka Falls and craters of the Moon. It was great to see snow atop one of the peaks at Tongarirro N.P. from the Huka Falls lookout.

Taupo is a great destination.

Taupo is a great destination. Pre-plan your activities in advance and enjoy the various activities on offer or just relax around the lake. There is a great variety and abundance of restaurants to suit every taste. We ate at the Vine restaurant, which was a little pricey, but the food was excellent.

The accommodation was good, plenty of eating places to choose from in town or just stroll the shops for exercise, quite a lot of attractions to choose from like lake cruse, golf, bungy jumping , senic flights and many more.

Taupo is a great place to stay if you like scenic views and relaxing locations. There are your pick of restaurants and entertainment but be prepared to spend, most of our dinners were min. $50NZD per head but you get great food and plenty of it.

Large comfortable rooms with spacious balcony. Ours overlooked pool area and woods. You can hear the birds singing away. Large bathroom, extra long vanity with double sinks, separate shower and 6 ft tub. The bathroom also had heated floor. Room also had stocked mini fridge tea/ coffee facilities. Front of Hotel overlooked Lake Taupo. Good dining facilities for dinner and a great fee for breakfast.

It was a quick decision to stay in Taupo, so only needed basic accommodation for the night. So was very cheap for a family of 4. The shared bathrooms were basic and clean-ish. Didn't use the shared kitchen so not sure what it was like. It had a jug, small fridge in the kitchenette.
