The cabin was very well equipped with everything we needed to cook a meal. The cabin was immaculately clean and the bed was very comfortable. A supermarket was a short drive away. There are multiple cafes in Roxburgh. It was such a quiet peaceful setting.

Very nice walk right near the centre of town with great views of the river and lots of birds to be seen. The surrounding scenery is very impressive. We didn't use any of the towns shops but there are lots of roadside fruit stalls there and the locals are really friendly .

Roxburgh is well known for its stone fruit.
Roxburgh is well known for its stone fruit. The town along the main road has a some nice cafes & restaurants as well as a supermarket. The township on the other side of the Clutha river is more quite with a holiday park, great hiking and cycling trails along the river. The Roxburgh dam and Roxburgh gorge cylce trail are interesting highlights.

The lovely tranquil atmosphere with the hills as a backdrop. Reminded us a little of our visit to Switzerland.
People were friendly. Met a lovely lady at the community garden who gave us a lot of local information.
The river walk was great. The views from spillgate lockout were fantastic - this is right opposite the Roxburgh Dam and hydro centre.

The town is a great stop on the way between Lawrence and Alexandra with a selection of places to eat. We loved Jimmy's pies the first time there but next time it was a Saturday and closed - luckily Teviot Tearooms had some and a great selection of other takeaways. Outside of town are many orchards, some of which have shops selling wonderful fresh fruit. Roxburgh is well suited to support a cycle trip on the Roxburgh Gorge and Clutha Gold Trails.

We were cycling the Roxburgh Gorge trail and this was a great place to rest . The Cottage is beautifully restored and sitting outside in the covered porch at the end of a day on our bikes was very relaxing. Our host was very pleasant and checked in on us. Despite my comments below, I think this is a great place to stay and great value for money.

Enjoyed the opportunity of staying in a 100 yr plus cottage and learning it's history. Heaters in lounge and bedroom so soon warmed up, well equipped kitchen and had the best shower.
Close to the Clutha River so possible to walk into township of Roxburgh alongside river.

Fantastic place to stay while cycling the Roxburgh Gold Trail. So comfortable, friendly host and close enough to the centre of town to walk to everything.
