Pakaraka/Maxwell is an ideal setting if you enjoy staying in...
Pakaraka/Maxwell is an ideal setting if you enjoy staying in a rural area but close to the activities and facilities offered in a bigger centre (Wanganui). Wanganui is about a 20 minute drive from Pakaraka/Maxwell. Whanganui is the closest centre for supermarkets and service stations. From our accommodation we visited Busy Park bird sanctuary, Waitahinga trails, Ototoka and Waiinu Beaches, William Birch Reserve, Paloma Gardens at Fordell, the Saturday market in Wanganui etc.
