Tranquil town away from the touristy hubbub of Te Anau but within range to catch the tour to Milford Sound. The Church restaurant served excellent meals at a reasonable price. Probably best suited to tours to Doubtful Sounds, but we did not mind the 20 minute drive to Te Anau.

Manapouri is a breathtakingly beautiful area with a quiet restful atmosphere. There is a lovely restaurant nearby and other food outlets. Lots to do in the area too. There are the day and overnight trips to Doubtful Sound, a stunningly beautiful area that will blow your mind. You do need to book ahead for these trips. There is also glow worm caves, alpaca farms, Kaykaking, tramping and more. Do your research and enjoy an amazing time in Manapouri.

Manapouri is a very small, lakefront town that has a beautiful view of Lake Manapouri and the mountains beyond. It also has a fantastic cafe/bar/restaurant called The Church, which I thoroughly recommend. However, don't stay at the Manapouri Lakeview Motor Inn if you can avoid it.

You need to help the receptionist with English.

You need to help the receptionist with English. When it was decided that he was under last name it was ok. She kept looking up first name and no booking was found then he wrote down name Graeme Childs. it was ok then.

Manapouri is a quiet place with few amenities, does have a church pub restaurant which was great, a must visit . And an antique traders shop and cafe and petrol. Station . The area is very close to the Doubtful Sound cruise terminal, which has cruises daily into Doubtful Sound which takes you across lake Manapouri . The lake is tranquil And unspoilt with walking and cycling tracks along its shores.

The house is very clean, fully equipped kitchen and everything that you could wished for a holiday home, the living room is decorated with a Christmas tree . The location is a short 15 mins from Te Anau and it provides great value. I like the quietness neighborhood and close to the lake with a nearby restaurant. Do get your grocery from Te Anau with more choices

The room is spacious and tidy with an amazing lake view. There is no wifi and scattered mobile coverage so we read some books instead. We booked the doubtful sound overnight cruise the next day where the departure point is 5 minutes away so it was a good location for us. Te Anau would be a better area for tourists to stay with more restaurants and shops.

An exceptionally friendly welcome and the finest view in the region from a family and house that have been welcoming visitors to Manapouri for generations. Our stay made the perfect base for a journey to Doubtful Sound.

The location straight across the road from Lake Manapouri was excellent. That’s where anything positive i have to say about this filthy run down hotel stops.

Nice camping with some little accommodations in cabins, chill mood after some trips in Fjordland.
