A very warm welcome from Paul & Sue. Paul showed us around the vineyard followed by a brief wine tasting. The rooms were with comfortable beds and next mornings generous breakfast was in their sunny kitchen. We can highly recommend the Grey Ridge Vineyard Experience.

I was only in Alex for the one night, for a wedding. The place is very clean, typical of NZ country township. All the usual shops, pub, petrol stn, golfcourse and nic nac shops. Great weather, sunny and warm

Alexandra is a beautiful place well known for beautiful winery around the district Places to go to are not far to travel You can go to Clyde.Queenstown . Wanaka. Cromwell all between 15 minutes to hour and half lovely scenery 😀there is a lot of history up and round Cromwell and the gold mines

There is a big clock on the hilltop.

There is a big clock on the hilltop. A big playground in the city centre. An information centre with a museum and a small gallery in the same building. We could walk along the river in the bush. Grocery shopping was easy as there are two major supermarkets, New World and Woolworths. Fast food was easy to find. Cafes offer good-tasting coffee. There is plenty of free parking in the town centre, from where we could walk almost anywhere around the town. Alexandra is a small town for a visit, where you want to unwind in a laid-back setting. It is also close to Cromwell and Roxburgh, where you can go for cherry picking in the summer.

Nothing to not like about Central Otago, Biking is superb...

Nothing to not like about Central Otago, Biking is superb with Gold Trails, Dunstan Trail and Rail Trail all at your fingertips. Great cafe and restaurants in Clyde such as The Post Office and Olivers and The Court House in Alexandra.

Alex is a great central place that you can get to all the good spots from. Much better than staying in Queenstown with all the traffic and planes going overhead. Accomm a bit more reasonably priced too

Great cabin - if a bit small.

Great cabin - if a bit small. Great view of mountain and cows. Beautiful breakfast and friendly hosts. Ate at Mexican restaraunt (seemed like the only one open). Good food and ambience. Would go back again.

Our hosts were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble and they even made sure we were aware of the lengthy road closure due to an accident the day we left, offering advice on what to do while we waited. The bed was super comfy, as were the armchairs. Their Weber BBQ provided an ideal way to self cater for dinner and a really tasty homemade muesli was provided with fruit and juice for breakfast. Highly recommend as an option for staying in Alexandra!

Great cottage only 4 minutes from Clyde and 7 minutes from Alexandra. Great hosts. Yummie home made bread, jam, yogurt , fruit and biscuits made for great breakfasts . Cottage had everything almost brand new. Great deck to sit and watch the sun go down with a wine. Highly recommend.

Great location in central Alexandra, lovely staff and a big room. Ensuite and kitchenette had all the amenities you expect - hairdryer, kettle, small refrigerator, microwave, plates and cutlery etc. Bed was comfortable and the room also had it's own aircon/'heatpump.
