For architecture lovers because of its original Newari architecture and tastefully decorated rooms and courtyard. Literally 20 sec walk from Patan Durbar. Great breakfast and service and very accommodating when we needed to stay a few extra nights. We forgot some valuables which they safeguarded for us until we returned from our other travels.

I loved the authenticity of the structure and setting. It deserves the historical designation that it has received. The staff went out of their way to be accommodating to our needs. Newa Chen seved us as a place to rest and recuperate from our trip to Mustang.

Very nice, clean hotel in a convenient location away from the main road. Amenities were good, room was clean and shower was warm. Furthermore they were kind enough to pack me breakfast at 6am on the day of departure. Big plus: The rooftop lounge has an excellent view and menu. Recommendable also to folks not staying at Kutumba.

Small guest house in a traditional Newar house with four large rooms (one on each floor) and small reception area on the ground floor. Situated in a quiet courtyard very close to Durbar square. My room was big, clean and comfortable with nice bathroom and everything I needed. Staff was helpful and polite and they stored my suitcase while I was on a trek. Very good breakfast was provided in a nearby cafe that was very nice.

It is less filled with tourists than Kathmandu or Thamel and seems to me more authentic. The Durbar square is amazing, as well as the small local temples and stupas. You can find delicious food everywhere, whatever you want, and people are very nice. You can get around on foot, but if you want to go to Kathmandu itself or to Bhaktapur, you can take a car via the Indrive app.

Of the 3 medieval Durbar Squares I visited (Patan, Kathmandu...

Of the 3 medieval Durbar Squares I visited (Patan, Kathmandu and Bhaktapur), I was most impressed by Patan's. Maybe because it was so easily accessible to my lodging (I was able to walk there twice), and the smallest of the three; or very possibly due to its being my introduction to the stunning architecture of the Newar culture and the history of Hinduism & Buddhism in Nepal. I recommend a full day to see the temples and do the museum justice; a guide is definitely a plus, to get the most out of your visit.

From the moment I checked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming and made the whole process smooth and hassle-free. The apartment itself was stunning—modern, spacious, and beautifully decorated. It felt like a home away from home with all the comforts and conveniences you could ask for.The attention to detail throughout the apartment was impressive—from high-speed internet and smart TV to premium toiletries and cleaning services. Everything was spotlessly clean, and you could tell that the management takes great pride in maintaining the property. What I also loved was the central location. I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the 1 BHK Premium Apartment! From the moment I walked in, I was blown away by the sleek, modern design and immaculate cleanliness of the space. The apartment was not only stylish but also incredibly cozy, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind.What really stood out was the attention to detail. High-quality furniture, smart home features, and the little touches like fresh linens and premium toiletries made my stay feel like a true getaway. The apartment was also equipped with high-speed WiFi, making it easy to stay connected if needed. The location was fantastic—central to everything I wanted to explore, yet tucked away enough for a peaceful stay. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay during my trip. This is the perfect place to stay in Patan, which BTW is much better than Kathmandu/Thamel in my opinion. The view onto the water tank with the temple and the stupa next to it is breathtaking! And Shailendra and his wife are incredibly nice and friendly. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, and you can have bottled water whenever you want from downstairs. I had the most delicious chick pea curry for breakfast in my life! I am very happy to have chosen this place.

The location of this hotel was perfect! Basically right in Patan's Durbar Square. The hotel is in a 300 year old building that used to be the house of the accountant of the king back in the day.The family that owns and runs the Guest house are all very nice and I would stay here again on my next trip through Nepal.

Very unique and traditional hotel in a great location close to main Patan attractions like Durban square. The hosts were extremely nice and helpful, truly created the atmosphere of home, and tried to help us with everything that they can. Breakfast was very tasty. We truly enjoyed our stay there very much!

Everything was perfect ! The staff was so kind, the room was so beautiful, with a very nice bathroom, hot water. the breakfast is not in the hotel but just 3min walking away. the localisation is very central in Patan. you can easily take a taxi to go in other Katmandu’s areas of interest.
