Splendid hotel that we chose being centered in our Lofoten tour. We reached the marina where the hotel is located and found the rorbue and the "hotel" itself just nearby. Quick and kind check-in and we were guided to the rooms... the first 2 minutes walking up the internal stairs, I believe we were wanting to leave immediately... then we reached the 1st floor and i saw the family faces change to a positive surprise, which became even more positive when we entered the rooms. I have no difficulty in stating that these were the best rooms in all our travel. Size wise, really large and spacious. furniture and style SUPER! From wooden floors made with ship recycled wood to the color of the walls all the way to the accessories, all is studied to combine modern look and connection to the ships and rorbuers. Beautiful indeed. Bathroom is very large ours included the bathtub, sons' had 2 large showers. Towels were provided on both days. We also took advantage of the dinner on one evening. Try and you will understand why their restaurant is fully booked! quality and level of cooking are at superior level... and being "picky Italians" this is a big compliment outside our nation.

Everything! From arrival to departure, the staff were exceptional. The restaurant was outstanding, the menu and wine pairings delicious! our house was well equipped, decorated and the view unbelievable. The sauna was an experience in itself. Only one observation, we were not aware hot tub access is limited. Will be back!

An absolutely beautiful and cosy little cottage. It was immaculately clean and very well and comfortably furnished. It is such a pretty and welcoming cottage with all the amenities we needed. The location is perfect too, with wonderful views and walks all around. We really loved our stay - thank you very much.

Ballstad is a pituresque fishing village surronded by...

Ballstad is a pituresque fishing village surronded by mountains. It's located right in the center of Lofoten which makes it a great base for those we want to explore the archipelago. Buksnes church is charming and a must see. Also it's near to Leknes where you can find a lot of stores and supermarkets. Ballstad will have a special place in our hearts as it was where we saw the most fantastic Aurora show which we were expecting for so long.

Perfect location in the center of the Lofoten Islands.

Perfect location in the center of the Lofoten Islands. We were able to take day trips to the north and south without having to relocate. The location outside of Leknes had easy access to the main road, gas and restaurants if not eating at our hotel - Hattvika Lodge.

There's not a lot to do in Ballstad plus I felt the view...

There's not a lot to do in Ballstad plus I felt the view from the lodge was just okay. It is on the water but overlooks a cod fishing plant which is authentic but there are other towns whereby the view is in a fjord and much nicer to look out to. Ballstad is convenient as it is a good midway point for the Lofoten Islands but I would recommend other towns to stay in for views and shops and cafes.

Very small town with limited hotel and dining options. You visit Norway for the scenery but driving into Ballstad was one of the least scenic roads we were on. No compelling reason too visit or stay.

A less touristy town than others, but in my opinion it...

A less touristy town than others, but in my opinion it maintains a bit more of the local traditions. I visited outside of high season, and it was very quiet. There's a small supermarket with everything you need. There are a few restaurants, but be sure to check if they're open when you visit.

A very beautiful and well-equipped rorbuer.

A very beautiful and well-equipped rorbuer. Ours was ideal for us, as we traveled as a couple. The view of the pier is truly magical. Excellent location for exploring this part of Lofoten, especially if you're traveling by car. The host was kind and helpful.

The best accommodation on our trip to Lofoten! Beautiful location, amazing panoramic windows with a view over Ballstad, incredibly clean (so that you understand - the keys were sterilized upon our arrival) and very comfortable till every single detail. The kitchen had all the needed utilities but also everything is new and of good quality. The communication was also very friendly and every single issue (we forgot something) was figured out quickly. I wish we stayed here longer!

During these 5 days I've met a lot of different other guests in the dorm 2. they all were very open minded and friendly. it seems like this kind of hostel is atttacting very nice people:)! Also the host was super nice. He gave us some interesting information about the cultural and artsy background of this part of Ballstad and wss extremely friendly. The rorbuer itself is super cozy and creats a very comfortable atmosphere. so all in all: best place in Lofoten so far!

Amazing stay at Ballstad and my family demanding me a revisit to this place in future trips. Our first experience in cabins and this place is so cosy spacious clean neat and you have everything here view and best calmness at stay. Owners are very kind and supportive. We loved this place and will visit again.
