I am familiar with the Netherlands, but had never visited Rotterdam. The modern facilities are attractive and well laid out. The older parts of the city have a lot of charm and character. The people are friendly and helpful.

We really enjoyed staying in Rotterdam, it's an extremely clean, modern and beautiful city. We mainly walked and used the tram and metro a couple of times. Public transport is expensive but clean and very efficient, unlike the UK! The roads are quiet and the traffic is very smooth; most main roads have multiple lanes for pedestrians, bicycles, cars and trams. We visited Delfshaven, which is the old neighbourhood, and the main city centre which offers plenty of attractions including the cubic houses and the Markthall, and lots of shops including the beautiful department store De Bijenkorf. One day we took the metro to Den Haag (The Hague) and it only took us 30 minutes to get there. We would love to go back and visit more places in and outside Rotterdam.

Rotterdam is a fabulous city (with its own airport) with everything and more. Amazing if you like architecture with a great mix of buildings, art and architecture museums and galleries. Lots of great walks by water. Great murals and unusual street art. Good shopping areas outside of the main generic shopping centres. Food is a mix of everything and not always easy to find decent restaurants so do research on that. Lots of delicious bakeries and good breakfast cafes. It’s so easy to go to close by surrounding towns by train like Delft, Schiedam, Leiden, Haarlem and even Amsterdam and The Hague aren’t too far. Or boat. So many pretty towns with canals and windmills and even a UNESCO area with 19 windmills just 30 minutes away. The people are very friendly and helpful. Feels very safe walking about even at night. It’s all walkable if you like to walk but otherwise the metro is convenient.

Rotterdam is a beautiful city.

Rotterdam is a beautiful city. We only stopped through for one day and night travelling from Paris to Amsterdam. We spent the day at Efteling theme park which we considered better than Disneyland Paris! Rotterdam city is clean and beautiful. The nightlife was pumping with many bars and restaurants. Must stop in at Bakkit for a pastry!

Very nice hotel with outstanding and friendly staff. Located in the center of Rotterdam city, surrounded by many parking garages if you are driving there. We booked two rooms, and they both were clean, spotless, comfortable, and smelled good. The second floor had a nice small shopping/ lounge area. They offer a variety of snakes, cold and hot drinks, and a few types of beers and wine. The breakfast items were limited but good enough to offer a good continental breakfast.

My partner and I stayed for two nights at this Sonder hotel, and we had a very comfortable stay. Our room was on the ground-floor in an add-on to the building, which meant we had no upstairs neighbours. The shower and toilet were combined. Water pressure was very good. The room offered basic equipment, like a water cooker, a Nespresso coffee maker, a safe, and an ironing board. The location was OK. Would consider this place again, for a next visit to Rotterdam.

It's one of those 'I just need a bed to sleep in for a night'. Reasonable price for Rotterdam, but not on the main city center side of the station. The staff was friendly and the 'wheel of fortune' on check-in kind of fun, but it is a bit of a tell-tale sign of the people this hotel targets.

Hotel Milano was quite easy to get to from Rotterdam Centraal Station, and breakfast was pretty good. It's possible to leave your bags well before check-in, so you can go explore Rotterdam without having to carry all your luggage.
