Famous for its museums, most important of which are located in the Museumplein, Amsterdam offers you a chance to see unforgettable masterpieces by Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Mondriaan and more. The Anne Frank House is a sobering reminder of the city’s more recent history. After a lot of walking, the Rijksmuseum is a great place to rest and get some extra culture before visiting Amsterdam’s lovely Vondelpark.

The medieval Old Centre with the always busy Dam Square and the tempting Red Light District is the most visited part of Amsterdam. Make sure to stop at Leidseplein and Rembrandtplein, homes to the best nightlife venues.

Shop till you drop at Amsterdam’s most luxury shopping street, PC Hooftstraat, the most popular street market at Albert Cuyp or in the fancy design shops of the Jordaan district. Famous pancakes and frites with mayonnaise are a must-try! The more adventurous traveller might want to try the pickled herring, followed closely by a local beer.

As first-time visitors to the city, we were not disappointed. It's a friendly city. Very easy to go by tram or bus to wherever you want to go. A lot of museums to choose from. The Van Gogh museum was amazing! In the center of the city you find bars, shops and churches next to each other. Easy to find restaurants and you must try the local food like 'Bitterballen'

I’ve visited Amsterdam twice now the streets are clean and you feel pretty safe walking about generally even at night time , there’s two sides to Amsterdam , there’s the red light area and coffee shops , then there is the museums , canals , shops good food and history , you just need a few days here , to really get the feel of Amsterdam , it can be expensive , so budget well , using the trains and trams will save a lot of money , using bikes can be a good way to get around or if you simply enjoy walking , few recommendations would be , body worlds museum if that’s your thing , definitely a boat tour around the canals , we always book the open boat on a nice day and it’s just beautiful , if your abit of a thrill seeker can go to a’dam outlook and go on a swing at the top of the building , and of course the Ann frank house , but this needs booking in advice you won’t get a ticket on the day

We loved the canals, the dancing houses, the people of Amsterdam, the amount of bicycles everywhere, the easy to use metro, and the open air markets. The only thing that we didn't care for was the subtle smell of marijuana in the streets around the Centraal Station. But that is part of the Amsterdam experience just like the canals!

Amsterdam is a must visit city as it has something for almost everyone (not seen much for children) I have now been about 8 times and each time I have a new experience as I uncover a part of the city I have not seen before. There is a hop on hop off bust tour you can take around the city but you must go to Anne Frank's house which is the top attraction in Amsterdam. Trams are everywhere so it is easy to get about and for those who want to feel the wind in their faces you can also hire a bike.

Amsterdam is simply a lovely city, from the water channels to the beautiful architecture. My favorite experience was the tour through the channels. Getting around Amsterdam is very easy, as the city is very well connected with metro, train and other types of transportation options.

Amsterdam changes on the weekend.

Amsterdam changes on the weekend. Every hostel / hotel becomes super greedy putting their prices up , double triple even quasruple The staff get ruder. The owners get greedier. They have euros in their eyes instead of human beings. Go to amsterdam mon- thur its a much nicer place

It was very close to the Metro about a 2 minute walk so appreciated ease to get to Amsterdam City Centre. Nice comfortable room, good size for me and my sister and a nice bathroom. Check in and check out yourself at the desk with their system and they also stored our bags on the last day after checking out while we went out Also only 30mins using train and metro to and from the airport and cheaper , cost us about €13(£12) to get to the hotel and airport compared to taking a taxi

Great location, just 5-10 min walk from Amsterdam Centraal train station and walking distance to the city centre and all it's main attractions. The room was comfy and had everything needed for the short stay. It was located on the 9th floor with views of the historic centre of Amsterdam, which was a great bonus. The staff was very pleasant and I was able to store my luggage in the hotel after the check out.

The property was traditional in look but with a fantastic modern and chic interior. The location is fantastic and within a stones throw of the nitty gritty of Amsterdam city centre. We had a room with one of the small balconies on the front of the hotel and it was super comfortable. Couldnt fault it. Will definitely stay again!

The hotel staff were friendly and accomodating. The area is a bit out of the way from the city centre but transport link is very close. What I like most is their 24-hour cafe/lounge. If you’re going to Amsterdam and looking for a decent place to stay but in a tight budget, I would suggest this place.

Owner was chatty and welcoming, and our room and the facilities were both very clean. The hotel is in a good location, with lots of vintage boutiques and a short walk to Amsterdam Centraal station and the city centre. The bedroom had a sink which was useful.
