This IS the best resort/chalet in the area. I do not know how those low scores came about as location is the same for the rest of the resorts. The rooms were very clean, huge and beds were so comfy. Aircon was fully functioning and I appreciated the mini fridge that kept our milk cold for the week we were there. Staff (the 3 workers) were friendly and kept the place in great condition. The swimming pool (which is chlorinated by the way) was cleaned once every few days so there were almost no dead insects/leaves inside. I did not get to have any meals there as they will only cook if there are larger numbers. That said, 2 very solid food places are nearby with the nearer one less than 200m away. I was there for relaxation and have been to this area for almost 19 years and stayed at plenty of places around. This is definitely the very best by a large margin. Overseas astro enthusiasts were there too and were full of praise for the resort as well.

We needed an overnight stop before going to Tioman and this was absolutely perfect. Clean, easy to find, comfortable beds and everything we needed before our early departure. 10/10 for what we needed.

The people who run this place are exceptional. We had to stay longer as the ferry to Tiomon was delayed by a two weeks. We stayed at this accommodation. They were really helpful toward us. The place is immaculately clean. They neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. We will return. Eating options below. It’s a little distance from town but you can walk it. They are happy to arrange grab taxi. There’s a burger stall at the end of the road turn left open 3am. A breakfast/ lunch place end of street turn run and walk to T intersection. A good Chinese restaurant a bit of a walk (about 15 mins) near the HUGE Chinese temple that looks like a school. Laundromat about 20 Mins walk.

Mersing is a good, necessary stopover to catch ferry to...

Mersing is a good, necessary stopover to catch ferry to Tioman island. Stock up on groceries while there (not duty free items). Depending on season, may be caught there a while so book accommodation accordingly. Very difficult to get early morning Grab to jetty- pre book if possible. Good coffee at Espreso

Nice small Malaysian town with the usual good choice of...

Nice small Malaysian town with the usual good choice of authentic local far and fast food restaurants. Town seems be well-maintained in terms of road and pavement maintenance, refuse collection and community buildings and signages. Useful base for going out to Tioman and the other islands.

The nature, fruits and vegetables garden. Talking about Durians 😋 The outside space with small kitchen and fridge. Smoking area. big sofas to relax. Rooms were so clean and comfortable with great shower and hot water. Best of luck with the business and growing Durians.

On the very first night I had calamari & chicken from buffet...

On the very first night I had calamari & chicken from buffet, got food poisoning l, don't know if it was the calamari or chicken. Luckily partner didn't have any of those dishes, she was ok where I had to stay inside the room with bad stomach and the runs, couldn't eat anything for 3 days! Had very bad experiences, paid $2400 AUD to be in my room and use the toilet for 2 nights and 3 days without any food!

We had two wonderfull nights at Harmoni Homestay. One before we went to Tioman and one when we came back. Room is clean and bed very comfortable. All is new because they recently opened. The fan is silent and there are windows you can open in the evening to let fresh cooler air in. The family is so nice! They made breakfast, drove us to and from the ferry (20min walk but in this climate the ride was a very welcome gift) AND made a lunch for our long busride back to KL ! Really nice hosts, perfect stay on your way to Tioman island!

The parking lot quite spacious. Nice area with play / exercise ground in front of the house. there are few bicycles but i forgot to try. you can cycle to the town or beach near by. It is walling distance to the town (if you like to walk). there is big living hall. you can gather with you friends. Facility Ok.

Location was excellent close to jetty, the beach, and a lot of commodities around Communication with the staff was excellent, they even helped us find back a bag we forgot in the 1945 coffee bar Check in and check out was super smooth, appartement was clean with enough space for 11. Good value for money too
