At first looking at reviews I had mixed feeling about this resort however from the moment I arrived and until I left the service was way beyond my expectations. Le Jadis beach resort and wellness was beyond our imaginations. From the moment we arrived we were swept off our feet with the service and treatment provided. The room was of an excellent size, being paid close attention to the smallest of details. And staff, not only were they always ready to be at our service, they had a huge sense of humbleness inside them and they really made up the whole experience for us. They were constantly on their feet, working hard to cater for every single guest. The food was immaculate, the chefs really kept up to the standard of Mauritius being known for their spices and flavours. The food was presented so beautifully it was a battle whether to admire it or eat it! There are many members we tried to get the names of but had forgotten! The ones we do remember are Kiran, Aniketh, Tina you all worked so hard and made us feel at home. We hope for anyone reading this to consider it the best resort to go to in Mauritius, and it would be a loss for anyone who does not choose this.

Staying in The Ravenala Attitude was a great experience in general. Our room was very far from the reception, but we didn't mind walking much. Our room was really spacious, facing the river. The hotel has several restaurants you have to book your place in time, but you can always eat in the main restaurant. We especially liked Madame Ming, Kot Nu and BBQ restaurants, their managers, chefs and waiters were amazing! In general the staff is extremely kind, helpful and lovely. (Gilles, thank you for the tea selection!) Sometimes you don't even need to ask for something, they are paying attention and bring it for you even before you opened your mouth. The hotel is very clean, the garden is beautifully maintained. I especially love how environmental friendly the hotel is! We rented single kayaks, glass bottom double kayaks, played Bocca on the beach, participated in Yoga and Tai Chi lessons and cooking classes. Especially cooking classes were amazing! Thank you Madame Ming and Kot Nu for the incredible experience! We had a great time, inspite of being very unlucky with the weather.

The staff are outstanding and hospitable (best of all the places we stayed in Mauritius. The rooms are lovely and simplistic with a little balcony/ terrace bit that’s still quite private. Breakfast was very nice too.

    Balaclava is not the most lively part of Mauritius which...

    Balaclava is not the most lively part of Mauritius which suited us perfectly. It consists mostly of vegetable fields, forests and small hamlets. The coast is getting developed with hotels but each is keeping its space so it doesn't feel crowded. You need to rent a car or get a taxi to visit the nearest town, Pamplemousses. There you have the old sugar factory, botanical gardens and a very pleasant shopping mall with a food supermarket.

    Although it was very hot and humid but there always was a cooling breeze along the coast. Couldn`t fault the staff, always very friendly an helpful and the room service was excellent, clean and efficient. We were not a young couple (in out 70s and 80s) and preferred to stay and enjoy the restful facilities of the resort. We could see that young couples with children were having a good time and were more likely to travel around the island in the heat.

    Balaclava is remote so no opportunity to walk anywhere.

    Balaclava is remote so no opportunity to walk anywhere. We were fine with a good dinner and the occasional musician but some might find it boring. We used a driver but if not then you’d need a car to get round the island. It was cyclone season so mixed weather but in general the North of the island has drier sunnier weather than the South.

    wonderful and chearful resort design, I liked it so much.

    wonderful and chearful resort design, I liked it so much. there are free and paid activities it is very good for families. 12 minutes from seewoosagur ramgoolam botanic garden and 15 minutes from port luis by taxi. there are 2 resturants and bar on the beach, there is delicious hot snack bufffet ( 4 - 5 pm).
