Fantastic. Loads to do even in November.

Fantastic. Loads to do even in November. Packed full of bars and restaurants. Lovely weather and shorts weather warm. Loads to see outside the walled capital. And a fantastic bus service / ferry service to whisk you away to all locations.

Spectacular place with so much history, art (2 Caravaggio paintings at the Co-Cathedral) architecture and lively street life. But don’t limit yourself to Valletta—check out Mdina, Rabat and the Three Cities—and Gozo with more time! Highly recommend eating at the Ambrosia restaurant! Great local dishes.

This is our fourth visit, it is a beautiful city with a lot to see both in the centre and away from it. The bus service is excellent enabling you to easily reach places like Mdina and Mosta. We have ate in some excellent restaurants during our visits visiting some each time we come over, Muza, Rubino, Legligin, Aaron's Kitchen, Grana to name a few. There are plentiful other eating and drinking venues, explore away from the main streets you will be pleasantly surprised.

Valletta is a great city to visit but be prepared for a lot of steps. The atmosphere is buzzing, with lots of restaurants, bars and cafes to visit as well as all of the lovely buildings and museums. Everyone is very friendly and helpful and a great place to just wander both day and evening. There are plenty of boat trips to take and buses too all very reasonably priced, so a good place for day trips around Malta as well as to visit Gozo.

Valletta is one of the most interesting walled, ancient...

Valletta is one of the most interesting walled, ancient cities we've ever visited due to the history of Malta. It is amazingly clean, easy to walk everywhere, get a ferry to Gozo or the Three Cities, and the cathedrals & museums are fascinating. However, it really caters to the mass market so there are a lot of people there and they congregate in just a couple of streets that are full of cafes with seating on the street and there is a lot of drinking, amplified street music and noise. Thankfully, the bulk of people tend to stay in this two block environment. Away from this area, the rest of Valletta was not crowded. We found excellent sea food and dining in small, intimate restaurants. The museums were not crowded but the Cathedral of St. John (mind boggling display of ostentation) got crowded as the morning wore on. There is just a ton of history to enjoy on Malta, in particular the prehistoric, neolithic, medieval and WWII eras. It's a small island so easy to go to Gozo on the ferry, take a bus or ride share (€12) to Mdina/Rabat. I was truly amazed by this country but fear it is not going to fare well if it stays on the current path of catering to people who are there for cheap alcohol, loud music, buskers, souvenir shopping and Instagram selfie posing. If you're going for the art, culture and history, go later in the winter months.

I can’t believe we haven’t visited Malta sooner.

I can’t believe we haven’t visited Malta sooner. We had time to travel around the island and all its historical sites but were thrilled we decided to stay centrally in Valletta. It’s a beautiful city with so much to explore and all within easy walking distance. It has a wonderful vibe and felt very safe. We were lucky to eat in some wonderful restaurants and sampled lots of traditional dishes. Every one we met and interacted with was friendly and welcoming and left us feeling that we would definitely be happy to return. We managed to fill seven days with lots of exploring but it would equally be somewhere to visit for a weekend break. We used the ferry to get to Sliema and also opted for the Hop on hop off buses to explore further afield. The trip to Gozo by boat was a more relaxing day and the Citadella was worth it. The added bonus of a speedboat ride to visit Comino’s caves and Blue Lagoon was the icing on the cake. We would not hesitate in recommending Malta and Valletta in particular - it’s a beautiful island and we will definitely be back!

Great position on a secondary alley in the city centre. The self-check in was easy and convenient since we arrived late at night. The room was nice and smelled clean. Availability of soap and towels (they will be not be changed throughout the stay). We appreciated the Maltese traditional balcony and the curtesy cookies and water waiting for us. The AC was nice and we got to leave our luggage in the main hotel linked to structure. The small booklet on Valletta and general info was also a nice touch.

The apartment was exceptional. It’s a beautifully restored historic building that offers all the comforts of modern accommodation. Everything worked perfectly, and the combination of elevator access and a PIN code for the door was very convenient. The hosts, Henry and Ruth, were incredibly helpful—always quick to respond to any questions. The apartment is located on a quiet street just steps away from the lively city centre. A perfect place to relax.

Perfect to explore the city as it is very close to the city centre. Beautiful view from the top as seen on the picture of the hotel. Classy facility. The selection for the breakfast could be bigger, but the egg benedict is superior.

The only thing I liked was the central location of the hotel. It was literally in the city centre so we could go easily anywhere and it felt safe.
