It's a room with en suite and a tiny breakfast room and a receptionist who is there until 3pm daily. No bell hop, room service, concierge desk, bar or the trappings of a hotel. And it's brilliant. Our room was spacious and surprisingly luxe for the money. Compact but very comprehensive kitchenette (microwave, two induction rings, fridge, cutlery and crockery for two, coffee machine). Huge and very comfortable bed. Efficient air con which was needed as it was hot and humid outside. Tiles everywhere. Scrupulously clean. We also had a 'harem balcony' with a coffee table and a couple of tub chairs. ChromeCast on the large TV. Great position in Sliema just up the hill from the ferry and an easy hop to St Julien's. We didn't have breakfast included so only had it one day and it was a decent enough.

He had a fantastic room, spacious enough, with a terrace and a sea view. The room was clean, and the bathroom was immaculately clean and spacious. He had all the amenities we needed in the room: a coffee machine, tea bags, and even a mini bar. The breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of options to choose from, both sweet and savory. The staff was friendly, polite, and always ready to help or answer any questions. The location is conveniently close to both the bus station and the ferry station. We loved everything about our stay at the Amery House.

It was the best stay ever in Malta. The hotel is amazing, the staff were so friendly, professional and helpful, especially Antonino and Nadia. They asked me everyday how am I, how is my stay so far and always try to help if I had a question. The breakfast was great, a lot of choice, the room was very clean and the facilities were great too. The hotel is very close to beach, restaurants etc.

TRUELY AN EXCEPTIONAL HOTEL! As an experienced traveler, it’s always easy to find a fault in a hotel but at The Londoner it was extremely difficult to find anything significant. Standard room rates are MID range, not the cheapest but well worth every cent of the price tag even for a budget traveler. Great breakfast with everything that a high end hotel provides. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANY CATEGORY OF TRAVELER

A short drive from Sliema, Cirkewwa Ferry Terminal offers direct services to Comino and Gozo, which are great for sightseeing, diving, swimming and the unique boat trip around Blue Lagoon.

Discover Malta, from the marvellous Tarxien Temples, to the traditional and colourful boats and fusions of freshly cooked seafood in Marsaxlokk. Sliema was an ideal place to stay in Malta as the location is excellent close to all amenities, ferry port ,airport, buses and a short stroll from St Julian's and ideally situated for easy access to other cities .

We found Sliema too busy and hectic.

We found Sliema too busy and hectic. Lots of building work going on, the high rise skyline wasn’t appealing. Good transport links to other areas and an excellent ferry service across the harbour to Valletta. Beautiful views of Valletta from the sea front promenade but this road along the harbour was noisy with traffic not relaxing to walk along.

Great base from which to explore Malta. Good ferry service to / from Valletta. Excellent (but very crowded) bus service to / from Valletta and other locations throughout Malta. Good general and some ‘high end’ shopping. Wide variety of restaurants, bars, takeaways and street food locations. Multiple short and long boat tours. The ‘real’ Sliema in the centre of the peninsula is not touristy. The narrow streets and lanes are well worth exploring on foot. Two excellent waterfront ‘proms’ to walk on (see and be seen). Pity they aren’t connected and continuous.

We stayed there because we were familiar with the area and...

We stayed there because we were familiar with the area and we had a guest with us that had never been before, but we found it very busy, crowded and we moved on to Bugibba and we found this a better feel and environment. Quieter. I have stayed many times at St Julians/ Sliema but I don't think I would in future. It would be a place I visited not stayed in. The shopping centre there in Sliema was good and it was fairly easy to get around.

The Roma Hotel location on the Tower Road where I stayed...

The Roma Hotel location on the Tower Road where I stayed was close to the ferry to Valletta, bus stops were nearby to various places including to the ferry port to Gozo, the long promenade afforded as long a walk as you wished, plenty of restaurants and take aways nearby also, I highly recommend the Fortezza on the promenade, excellent food.

Sliema has a plethora of great restaurants, bars and hotels...

Sliema has a plethora of great restaurants, bars and hotels but we would not however choose to stay there again. The public transport is dreadful, there is noisy building work everywhere and the place itself is very built-up. It almost felt we were in a UK city at times - apart from the fabulous weather that is.

This hotel was amazing! We really felt it was like a 5 star hotel. The location was perfect, there were several restaurants and shops near by. We used Bolt to get anywhere on the island and it was very cheap! The ferry was a 5 minute walk from the hotel and was €2 to reach Valletta which only took 7 minutes. The room was perfect, bathroom and shower were one of the nicest i've seen in a hotel. The pool area was really nice and the room service to the pool was an added plus to enjoy a cocktail.

Room was clean and well kept. The sea view was to die for and the location nothing short of perfect. The bathroom was as clean as could be. Knowing it is a recently refurbished hotel there finishing was terrible and some of the caulking already turning blackish and the fittings were cheap at best. Had dinner once at the Sky Grill Restaurant and the food was delicious.

Beautifully clean everywhere, lovely comfortable rooms and great amenities. Waterfront is in a great location, just a short stroll to the Sliema-Valletta ferry and loads of other boat trips, and so much choice locally for eating/drinks - even within the hotel! The staff were all amazing, helpful, kind and super friendly. Views from the rooftop bar are breathtaking.

room was not confortable, and dirty, we observed two Cockroach in the room inside the straw furnitures, balcony door stuck and also many small issues that can’t be accepted in 5 star hotels. all served Soda in the lobby bar are in glasses from 2 litres bottles with all gas gone. …. very disappointing for 5 atar hotels… which def far away from the so said standard.
