Although I have been to Mellieha before and it has changed enormously in the last 25 years, I think it is still one of the most charming parts of Malta. There are dozens of bars and restaurants, a fair few of which I have visited and every one was excellent. I could not fault the village in any way I would certainly recommend this as a holiday destination. Although very hilly, I believe that is part of its charm and I have stayed in other parts of Malta, all of which have their own attraction.Guest review byMcLennan - 10.0

We booked an airport pick up and drop off which was amazing value for money, on time and air conditioned. Other than the hills, this is a great little town.
Other than the hills, this is a great little town. The food, especially the seafood, was delicious everywhere we went. The people were very friendly and helpful. There is good history in the area (WWII tunnels and churches in town, the Red Tower just outside of it), nice beaches on the bay (about 5 minute bus ride or 20 minute walk), the ferry to Gozo is easily accessible (10 minute bus ride), and the Popeye Village is a quick bus ride away, too. Mellieha bay has a few nice restaurants and bars close to beach.Noras had lovely food and great bar with friendly staff. The town is up a steep hill with more restaurants and few bars. We used Mellieha as a base for travelling around the rest of Malta - it's handy because there's a nice beach there (if that's your thing) and plenty of eating places. There are boat trips and water sports available from the bay. In terms of local attractions, there are a couple of museums and St. Agatha's Tower is worth a visit (visible from the bay at the top of the hill). We visited in June, and would recommend you don't leave it later than that - the heat would be excessive in July and August. Architecturally, Mellieha is a real mix (like the rest of Malta), with a mixture of ancient buildings and modern high rise apartments / flats, catering for tourists. We booked the hotel especially due to this beach and did not regret on our choice. One minus of the location is a camping close to the hotel, and, if your room does not have a seaview, then you will have quite noisy neighbours from the camp.
