I have been to this town on several previous occasions, (I live in Myanmar, and have an educational charity and donate at the various orphanages). Due to the current 'situation' in Myanmar, there are very few foreign tourists in Nyaung Shwe, and many larger hotels, restaurants and shops that cater to foreign tourists are closed. However, the locality is very safe and the local people are very friendly and helpful. The internet is relatively stable, but take a torch with you because the electricity supply to the town is only available for a few hours each day. Larger hotels have generators, but smaller hotels do not!Guest review bySimonThailand

The owner Nway Nway went above and beyond to make sure that my 9 month old kid and I were safe and cared for. I’ll never forget her hospitality and kindness. Breakfast cooked and served by the owner is so great. It has Western breakfast to local food.
