You can easily walk to Virpazar for restaurants, and if you need something urgently, there’s a gas station with a mini-market just minutes away. But the real magic begins once you arrive. Total silence. No traffic, no tourists — just nature and you. Birds singing, swallows flying overhead, turtles strolling through the grass, dragonflies buzzing, and mountain air so fresh it makes your head spin in the best way. The cottage itself is a dream. Everything is thoughtfully curated and made with care — nothing “just for show,” but rather warm, cozy, and full of charm. Beautiful dishes, lovely decor, and even multi-point lighting that’s been designed to the smallest detail. It’s an eco-friendly house with stylish wooden furniture made from real logs — think “modern forest cottage” rather than “old ranger’s hut.” Traveling with a dog, like I was? There’s a dog bed and bowls. Coming with a baby? There’s a crib and a baby bath. Every need has been anticipated. Outside, there’s a private terrace, a barbecue area, and an unforgettable view. To welcome us, a bottle of homemade rakija and cold beers waited in the fridge. Later, the host Ivan brought us his own homemade wine — and it was amazing! Ivan was always available, checking in to make sure we were comfortable. He also offers boat rides, kayaking on Lake Skadar, and can organize breakfast if you’d like. This is a place where time slows down, where local hospitality shines, and where you don’t have to sacrifice a single bit of comfort. Trust me — you won’t find anything like this, at this price, anywhere else in Montenegro… or maybe even in all of Europe.

I'd recommend both the hotel and restaurant. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. I stopped on a bikepacking trip and no problem to store my bike. The hot water and high water pressure of the shower were truly a gift!! I had trout at the restaurant it was really fresh and flavorful. highly recommend!

This is not just another hotel or apartment. This place is like visiting your grandparents for the weekend where everyone is trying to do good for your and grandma cooks her best dishes for you. This place has a beautiful view, it is clean and modern. Everyday you get asked what you want to eat for breakfast/lunch/dinner and then it is cooked in the tastiest way. And it is not about money, it is about you being happy with your day and with your stay. Also there are boat trips available where you get to see the beauty of the lake closely. We really liked our stay, we loved meeting Mijo and his parents. We felt like home there and we definitely recommend this place!

conveniently located next to a train station and within a 10-minutes walk from the center of Virpazar - Miona is an ideal hotel for quiet and comfortable stay. Our room was clean and nice, with a great mountain view. The host and his parents are wonderful people - so much attention we had from them, lots of help with any query we had. And I strongly recommend eating at their restaurant. it’s a home cooked food, delicious and great value for money. We once had lunch in one of Virpazar’s cafes and realized even better how good Miona’s cuisine is. Fish and rice, and fish chords for dinner were the ultimate! Our kid is the biggest fan of Savva the host and his mom and dad - so many presents and love he got these days. thank you guys, you truly made our holiday!

It was the highlight of our stay in Montenegro, hands down. The family room was spacious amd comfortable, equipped with everything you need (there is even a washing machine if you are a family with small children). The owner and his family were beautiful people who went above and beyond to make our stay a special one. We stayed for 2 nights and went on a private boat trip with the owner. Lake Skadar was BEAUTIFUL ♡ We chose to have dinner in the property both nights and had the freshest catches of the day. Lastly, we left the kids' cuddle bunnies (soft toys for sleeping) behind, and we asked the family if they could send them to us in Switzerland, and they did before even us making any payment for the postage. Many many thanks for your kindness!
