Everything was fantastic. It was an authentic experience of Balkan hospitality. We felt like we were part of the family :) The food was exceptionally delicious. The cozy room was clean and comfortable for two. Moreover, we enjoyed two consecutive days of boating and were captivated by the beauty of Lake Skadar; it was truly breathtaking! We didn’t use the terrace and mostly stayed indoors because of the insects, but the view from the bed is still amazing with the large glass sliding doors. We read reviews about the toilet being outside the house and were a bit concerned, but it’s just outside the main door so it’s not too bad. Didn’t meet the host but he was very responsive on WhatsApp and suggested many things for us to do.

I felt like I am a movie star in an old italian film :) Fabulous little hotel at the central town square! I loved arhitecture of the hotel and old style bilinds on the windows - "škure"! Marko was a great host. He recomended boat excursion which was fantastic! He has helped a lot on my way to Virpazar suggesting best directions. Ladies working at the reception and in a restaurant were very nice and polite. They have recomened little antique exibition at the attic of the hotel. My best recommendations for Pelikan hotel!

Fantastic hosts. Friendly and generous with good suggestions for places to go and things to see. Breakfast is delicious and abundant. Boat trip with Luka on the lake is a must-do. He does it so well. The town gets a bit chaotic around the middle of the day with tour groups arriving for lunchtime and early afternoon boatvtrips, but the rest of the time it's a charming and relaxed place.

We stayed at Balabani Local Stay and it was truly one of the warmest, most welcoming places we've ever experienced. The staff are incredibly kind, responsive, and genuinely caring — you feel more like a guest in someone’s home than in a hotel. The rooms were spotless and cozy, with very comfortable beds that made for a great night's sleep. The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, homemade, and full of flavor. Breakfast alone is worth the stay! If you're looking for peace, comfort, and true hospitality — this is the place. Would happily come back again!

It is perfect to plan a trip closer to the mountains and lake skadar. For me two nights was the perfect amount of time. I recommend using kingfisher for lake skadar tour and eating at Grill House Roštiljijada Was the highlight of the stay!

It's a really small village down the road.

It's a really small village down the road. Nice views but this is it, do not expect any attractions. It's basically a good spot to stay for the night while travelling in between different Montenegro localisation (for example if you're planning a boat trip over Skadarlake) Vranjina is a good 1-3 night stay for a cheap price with great local food (prices way better than in the nearby Virpazar). I highly recommend Restoran Obala, amazing food, huge portions and friendly staff.
