Midelt was an interesting town/city.
Midelt was an interesting town/city. There is lots to explore there. We enjoyed wandering around the souk. Sitting at the foot of the mountains it is quite beautiful in the changing light. This place has the feel of a rough and ready desert town.
This place has the feel of a rough and ready desert town. It has a variety of people who live here, and was dry as a bone when we stayed. We were hoping to hike the surrounding countryside but couldn’t get it together so walked around the various neighbourhoods. This turned out to be a great experience. We found a very interesting Berber village, a completely unexpected Catholic monastery, and a very bizarre but beautiful guesthouse. If you're travelling through Midelt on your way to the Atlas Mountains, this place is a perfect stop. The hotel has a beautiful terrace to chill, drink and eat. Unfortunately we left early and didn't had breakfast, so can't comment on this. The owner is the most chilled and friendly guy we've met in Morocco. The room is located near the main shopping street in Midlet.
