Palma Ziz A wonderful place to stay—highly recommended. The view of Palm Canyon and the mountains is breathtaking. Although close to the main road, it is very quiet. The pool is a great perk for cooling down after sunbathing. The staff is friendly, and the breakfast is excellent with generous portions. We enjoyed a short hike in Palm Canyon and visited the quaint village of Ait Ahtman. There is also a large lake about a 20-minute drive towards Errachidia. While the road to the lake is not drivable, it's only a 15-minute walk from the main road. Having a car made our stay more convenient.

Somewhere midway between Fes and Merzouga, Dar Jamila is a comfortable place to stay and relax. It's an authentic mud house, in an old authentic mud village, with a lovely garden. Here among the greenery and silence, you are in paradise! An amazing view from the roof terrace! Wonderful and hearty dinner and breakfast! The host is very kind and polite and extremely friendly! Splendid place, a true paradise, highly recommended!

Youssef's Magical Oasis Youssef's home is a breathtaking testament to sustainable living and familial love. Arriving late, we navigated the off-the-beaten-path village with the help of a kind local woman, who guided us to the house, despite the language barrier. We were greeted by a group of friendly children eager to assist us. Despite the initial confusion over Youssef's absence, the warm hospitality of the villagers reassured us. We learned that Youssef was at the hospital as he had become a father just the day before! Upon his arrival, despite his exhaustion, he warmly welcomed us, showed us our room, and recommended local dining options, even offering a home-cooked meal from his mother. We opted to let him rest and for a late-night of delicious street food alongside locals in the closest town. The next morning, Youssef treated us to a sumptuous breakfast, a feast of homemade delicacies. As we shared stories and dreams, we were inspired by his vision of revitalizing his village and sharing its traditions with the world. It's a vision worth supporting, a chance to experience authentic hospitality and cultural richness. Our stay was a heartwarming reminder of the power of human connection. We hope to return to Youssef's magical oasis and witness the realization of his inspiring dream.

The owner shared a lot of knowledge with us about the area and we got free coffee at his cafe the next day. The woman cooked us a lovely tajine. But the best part was the children whom we played games with and danced and played Kash kash (hide and seek). We used Google Translate to talk all night and had an amazing experience.

Easily found on the side of the main road but you could not hear the traffic! Plenty of parking, excellent food! Wonderful staff who could not do enough for you!

The room was spotlessly clean and the bedroom a very generous size. The caretaker was kind enough to start the AC in my bedroom one hour prior to my arrival, which in this heat was immensely appreciated.
