The riad we stayed at was within the old walls of the medina. The area was a delight and was kept clean by a population who obviously took pride in where they lived. There were many old narrow (safe) streets to explore in the medina with a lot of shops to buy presents from. The proprietors were never 'pushy' and a good price could always be had with a bit of bargaining. Outside of the medina was the usual hustle and bustle of an Arab town seemingly run with the usual disorganised chaos of most Arab towns we've visited around the world. It is a holiday destination that caters for the local Rabat/Tangier crowd. The town is expanding not dissimilar to Spain and S France a couple of decades ago. The town beach is OK, but the gems are a 30 taxi ride away. The food along the main section is excellent and cheap. Very few serve alcohol but there is an off licence if you can find it. I have been many many times in the last 37 years and it never fails to impress, plenty to do for a long weekend, easily accessible from Tangiers by train or taxi (approx 200mdh), very safe, lovely people, new marina being built , probably best to stay outside the marina as it might be noisy at night, plenty of affordable accommodation in the area, great choice of eateries, shops and hammams, car not necessaryGuest review bymandySpain - 8.0

Very clean (by far the cleanest kitchen i had in morocco!). Kind staff. Madame Amira cleans around the clock, is very friendly and attentive to make the guests as much comfortable as possible. My appartment even had a little balcony and aircon, and bathroom with window (therefore no humidity or mold). Good situated near the medina. Guarded parking place nearby.
