It was a very very nice experience in the guest house. They cultivate in front of the house, the rooms are nice, the living room where we eat is incredible, the village is authentic and the people is nice... The manager Abdoul is a person with a huge heart, he helped us a lot and we were very confortable in every moment. He came with us for a walk along the river, telling us the history of the village and showing their agriculture. If you like rural places, you must stop here. And EAT THERE!! We took breakfast, meal and dinner with them. Everything incredibly tasty and huge quantity.

A fantastic place with an even more fantastic host! Abdoul made us feel very welcome right from the start and it was a delight chatting with him over some Moroccon tea The food (mainly straight from their garden or locally sourced) was made by his mom and tasted great!

I didn't believe all the positive reviews at first - but I still decided to try Dar Megdaz and it did exceed my expectations. I immersed myself in living in the mountains. You sleep at 2000 altitude. Mohamed and his family are incredibly hospitable and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and pleasantly cold at night. You have enough blankets to sleep well. The shower is cold, so take it in the morning, not in the evening. Bring your shower gel and towel. The food seemed overpriced at the moment of booking, compared to other places. However, it did turn out to be the best food I've eaten in Morocco in a week. Maybe the views help but also at the altitude the food should taste more bland - I didn't feel that. The highlight of the breakfast was almond paste with argan oil. I loved it so much I asked Mohamed to sell me some. Also local butter is great but I can't describe it - you should try. The lunch was incredible as well, I loved tangia. I booked the lunch even though I had known that I wouldn't be hungry at that time. Hiking to the waterfalls using wikiloc is great. No one en route but beautiful nature. I also went to a nearby village of Imgiss as recommended by Mohamed. There I visited a widow with her daughter who have a lovely bunch of animals with whom I played. They offered mint tea, cottage cheese, cheese, home grown almonds and more. They didn't speak English but we still had a good time. On the way back, the grandma offered to walk back with me. She was outpacing me even though I had hiking boots and poles. The road through Atlas mountains to Dar Megdaz is incredible. I love fast driving on narrow mountainous roads, and I got there alright with Clio. The road is one lane wide for both directions and has a ton of holes and gravel patches. On top of that, a few shallow river crossings now in April. If you're not comfortable with risky driving, get a bigger car or drive slowly. You'll get there and will still enjoy the views.

Good home cooked food and really helpful host who spoke English. The room has a great balcony where you can sit and enjoy mountain views. It was cold when we stayed but we were provided with a room heater which helped a lot. We were also allowed to put our motorbikes inside which was great.

A small mountain village nestled among the winding roads of the High Atlas. Perfect for strolling and getting lost in its narrow streets that surround the main mountain road. Absolute peace and total silence.
