Kasbah Gite D’etape Gorges De Ziz is located in Achbaro. Achbaro a tiny village, 5 hours south of Fes. It is a great place to overnight to break the long trip from the Sahara Desert to Fes or Meknes. Ali, the owner and manager of the kasbah, cooked us a very tasty chicken & vegetables tajine for dinner. After an excellent breakfast, Ali sent us on our way with a bag full of delicious dates from the local palmeraie.

Place has beautiful views and access to pick fresh dates and olives from the trees on location. Some of the best people on the trip or ever. on the way from Fes to Merzouga or vice versa, this place is a logical midway to take a break for a night or longer.

If you are looking for something traditional in a beautiful setting then look no further. A lovely warm welcome and made to feel at home. The evening meal was the best I have had in Morocco.

If you are looking for a stay in a rural Moroccan setting I would highly recommend this. The host Yusuf and his family was absolute pleasure to stay with. We stayed in six different locations of which as a family we all remember this accommodation and the hospitality by Yusuf and his little family.

The owner shared a lot of knowledge with us about the area and we got free coffee at his cafe the next day. The woman cooked us a lovely tajine. But the best part was the children whom we played games with and danced and played Kash kash (hide and seek). We used Google Translate to talk all night and had an amazing experience.

Very convenient place in the good location , we have travelled on motorbikes, the parkong was exactelly next to our room in closed area. The accomodation was very good equiped by AC, windows shading system etc. There were wifi, quite durring night and good restaurant. Very helpful familiar staff spek fluently english.
